Prayers Needed for Rev. Timothy Wright and His Family
On July 4th, while the rest of the country was celebrating the holiday, Rev. Timothy Wright (known by many as the "godfather of gospel”), Betty (his wife of 37 years) and his 14-year old grandson, D.J. Wright were were returning home to New York from the Auxiliaries in Ministry (AIM) Convention in Detroit. In Pennsylvania, a man whom police believe was intoxicated was driving the wrong way down the highway. He hit their car head-on and then they were struck a second time from behind by a third car. Betty Wright died at the scene while D.J. Wright, brain dead and on life support, passed away two days later. The driver of the car going the wrong way was also killed and two passengers in the third vehicle were injured.
As of yesterday, the medical outlook for the GRAMMY-nominated artist was good, though he was in intensive care at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania with head injuries, a punctured lung and several broken bones. He had not yet been told of the deaths of his wife and grandson.

Rev. Wright has had such a tremendous impact on our music. We pray right now for his physical healing, and for peace and comfort knowing where his wife and grandson are awaiting him. May God hold him in the palm of His hand, and comfort Rev. Wright as no one here can. He will no doubt hurt from this tragic loss, and we need to continue praying for him for some time to come. May God’s grace pour on you like rain, Brother Wright.
GRACE, GRACE, GRACE SHALOM, SHALOM, SHALOM TO YOU…..S
I hope you continue to improve so you can back on track with your life and i know that it will be hard to adjust but if you keep your hand in god’s hand every thing will be alright, and i know that jesus is a freind of mine and yours.
It is horrible that such a tragedy occurs because of one person’s drunk driving. So may lives destroyed and forever changed. Our prayers are with him and his family.
