Harvest Crusade Family Tragedy

Friday July 25, 2008
Christopher Laurie, the art director at Harvest and the 33-year-old son of evangelist and Harvest Crusade organizer Greg Laurie, was killed Thursday morning in a car accident in Corona, California. Apparently he rear-ended a 12-foot-tall Caltrans truck that was in a roadwork convoy in the carpool lane. The California Highway Patrol estimates that the truck was doing approximately 15 mph and Laurie was going too fast to keep from hitting it. Caltrans spokeswoman Shelli Lombardo said Christopher Laurie's car hit the dump truck's attenuator, also known as a crash cushion.

In addition to his parents, Greg and Cathe Laurie, Christopher Laurie is survived by his wife, Brittany, who is due to give birth in November, his 2-year-old daughter, Stella and his younger brother Jonathan.

Funeral plans have not been announced but more information will be posted to the Harvest website as details become available. In the meantime, you may post your condolences and thoughts for the Laurie family by posting a comment on Pastor Greg's blog.
