(1) Gail says:

Im sorry the Lord has never made us gay. God made man and woman for each other to complete one another. God took the rib from Adam to make Eve so that man was not alone. Man and woman are part of each other not man and man or woman and woman. People can try to justify it all they want. This is the way God created us. Man and woman so we can procreate. Man can not procreate with man or woman and woman. We need to read the whole content of the bible not just the parts that make you feel it is justified to live a homosexual life style. Two of my brother-in-laws died because of that lifestyle. At the end of thier lives they knew they were wrong and gave thier lives to the lord and wished that they could change the life they once lived and have a wife and a family. They were very aware that it was sin.I loved them whole hearted. I was there for them til the day they went to be with the lord. Each on thier death bed cried out to God and spoke the deapths of thier hearts to God. They knew they had lived a life of sin but were washed clean and are in glory now. You can’t justify sin my friend, you are just convincing yourself of a delusion and it will fade away some day to show the sin.

may god truly turn you around God made man and women not man and man …….. and for you to even say god did it is just horrid to evn say something like that

(3) David says:

Ray Boltz is deceiving himself. He could corrupt young Christians. Ban him until he gets his act together. My nephew just disclosed to his parents that he is gay. It causes much consternation to go against God’s way.

(4) Daniel says:

Brothers and sisters in Christ lets pray for the salvation of Ray Boltz. And hereby we do know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments(1John 2:3). It is obvious that Mr. Boltz is lost due to his claims that God would create him to live contrary to His own commands. Of course 1Corinthians 6:9 clearly states that no homosexual shall enter into the kingdom of heaven. Although we cannot allow such things in the Church and should not overlook it, remember the whole list of those who will not enter heaven: adulterers, idolaters, coveters, and drunkards are among them. Lord have mercy on us.

(5) Ron says:

So sad that a singer with Ray’s capabilities fall to lust. God hates the sin of homosexuality and will judge accordingly as he did Sodom and Gomorrah. Does God change? So sad that many other homosexual men and women will view this as condoning their life style and will contribute to them going to the lake of fire. No, I don’t hate homosexuals and neither does God, he died on the cross for their sins but sin cannot enter into heaven. When we overcome a lifelong battle such as this, is this the crown of overcoming that is mentioned. We indeed need to pray for Ray that this can be turned around to God’s glory and many others salvation!

(6) Michael says:

Some of the comments Mr. Boltz made could be made by many people struggling with various sins in our lives. Do we just give up and give in to the temptation to be (lazy, fornicators, drunkards, etc.) The answer is emphatically no. Will we have times when we do give in if it is something we have struggled with for a long time. Probably. The journey against sin and towards a more righteous path is a lifelong one. May Ray (and all of us for that matter) continue to strive for what is right and against what is wrong.

September 22, 2008 at 9:35 pm
(7) Mark says:

This news saddens me. However, it doesn’t seem at this point that Ray is “struggling” with this sin at all. We all have temptations and sins. True believers wage war against their flesh. I too have sins and habits I’d like to break. But the point is, I still struggle. Only God knows those who are His, and I hope Ray (and all who are in the vice of sin) will come to repentance.

(8) James says:

Let me just say the Bible says for us not to Judge one another. That is not our job! that is the Lord’s job!
Jesus Loves us for who we are! and no I would not say that God made me that way! but it is what it is! regardless, Jesus died for our sins! and their is gay professed people that are christians! and Love Jesus! We should Love him, uphold him, and YES! pray for our Brother in Christ! Praise The Lord! for talent! We have to be careful what we say about others! It makes me think of the scripture where Jesus ask ye without sin! cast the first stone! well the ALL walked away! We are Saved not by ourselves but by the Grace of God!
I am proud to say that Jesus is my savior and Lord! and he loves me for who I am!

September 23, 2008 at 3:18 pm
(9) Jonathan says:

I would like to say that Ray Boltz has been a blessing to alot of people across the US and Canada! Let’s don’t give up on him and his talent that God has given him!
I personally Know their are many, many in Christian Music who are Gay! or just in the closet! but they choose to use their talents for God! that is great!

(10) Dawn says:

I must say I am glad to see a consensus among God’s people. God DOES NOT make people gay. You were not born that way. That is a trick directly from the pit. Homosexuality is sin and God hates sin. God created man and woman. Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. No two ways about it. My prayers are that he comes to this realization and turns his life around because Heaven is always a goal as long as your breathing.

September 23, 2008 at 4:00 pm
(11) Kathy says:

It’s so sad that he has been deceived by the enemey. He has written so many songs that had to be inspired from the Lord. I pray that God would lift the veil from his heart, because it appears to be harding, according to some of his own statements, that God would also lift the veil from his eyes of understanding and that he could see what the enemey has in store for him, and run back into the loving arms of Jesus.

September 23, 2008 at 4:16 pm
(12) Paige says:

“Adam and Eve- not Adam and Steve!!!” WHATEVER Dawn, have an original thought.
I think that James (comment #8) and Jonathon are about the only true Christians that posted a comment. Shame on the rest of you for your judgements. NONE of you truly know what God really thinks so please stop trying to speak for Him. I’m quite sure he can impart judgement all by Himself. If you don’t like the fact that he is gay then simply don’t buy his music. The preaching really isn’t necessary.
If one sin is the same as all others than you people better hope and pray that God forgives homosexuality- so he can forgive all of you.

(13) susan says:

without a shadow of a doubt now i fully understand why my pastor’s wife always insists that her role models are all dead people.i guess i’ll emulate that.we need to thank God for situations like this because it reminds us that only christ is our standard.aat no point in time should we look up to man no matter how influencial, but to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.SELAH

September 23, 2008 at 6:02 pm
(14) Joseph says:

Paige, obviously you’ve never read your bible. If you had you know what God thinks. God gave us his word so that we could know Him, his ways, his will and what he thinks. He is a God who desires us to know Him and does not hide Himself from us.
As for James’ comment about judging one another that too is misinformation. We are told as Christians that we are to keep one another in check, keep one another on the right path and the only way to do that is to be judging of one’s character. In fact we are even told how to do it in God’s word.
“Christians are to judge disputes between members of the local body of believers so they can settle these disputes (1 Corinthians 6:1-8). This is so that the problem doesn’t spill over into the non-believing world, which discredits the church’s witness to the lost.
The local church is to judge the unrepentant sins of its members, and to take the appropriate actions. Un-confessed sin needs to be publicly judged rightly and condemned (1 Corinthians 5:3-5). When we do this, it must be done according to God’s Word (see Matt.18:15-20). The purpose of this judgment is not to condemn, but to restore the sinful believer into useful service (Galatians 6:1-5). If the sinful believer refuses to repent, then we are to break fellowship with them until they do repent (1 Corinthians 5:11-13; 2 Thessalonians 1:8; 3:6). Christ rebuked the church of Thyatira for not judging a woman who was a false teacher and prophetess, and who was sinning (Revelation 2:20-24)…
We are told in 1 Thessalonians 5:14 to “admonish the unruly.” In verse 15, we are told to “see to it that no one repays another with evil for evil.” So it is clear that we as believers have to be discerning about other believers. This doesn’t mean that we are to go around looking for every little speck or flaw, but that when we see people doing things that are clearly unbiblical then we are to speak up and say something.” (source:http://www.bibleteacher.org/Judging.htm
We should withhold judgment on non-moral issues. That’s where Matthew 7:1 says, “1Judge not, that ye be not judged.
So if Ray Boltz is truly a Christ believing Christian and now has a moral issue, which being gay is, then it is our duty to talk to Ray and Pray for Ray. If he refuses to repent from his sin we are break fellowship with him until he does repent.
As for Jonathans’ remark, “I would like to say that Ray Boltz has been a blessing to alot of people across the US and Canada! Let’s don’t give up on him and his talent that God has given him!” I couldn’t agree more. Let’s not give up on him but pray for him daily. As for the other comment of closet gay Christian musicians, I don’t know what his source is so I cannot comment.
As for this comment Paige,”If one sin is the same as all others than you people better hope and pray that God forgives homosexuality- so he can forgive all of you.” This is why Christ died on the cross for us. So that we are forgiven.

(15) Booker T says:

JESUS came to heal, deliver and restore us. He do not invade any ones heart of unbelief.

September 23, 2008 at 6:38 pm
(16) edandrews says:

Sorry folks, but my guess is that he’s already thought about this long and hard, and justified himself (emotionally, not scripturally), so he’s probably a goner — unless God touches his heart, shows him that he is full of perverse lust, and grants true repentance.

And as for “judging” others, God has already ordained and declared in the Old and New Testaments that this lifestyle is an abomination, which will lead to a very, very hot lake of fire. So, unless God changes (and know God cannot change), and unless God touches Ray (which God CAN do), we already know the outcome.

September 23, 2008 at 8:01 pm
(17) Paige says:

Joseph- I agree with keeping each other in check on moral issues. If I saw someone steal something or harm someone else, I would say something. Here’s where we disagree, I don’t think sexuality is a moral issue. I know you and most everyone else on this page will start quoting your scriptures about how I am wrong but it’s just a belief, not something I know to be true. It’s faith. Faith that God loves us all. If life is God’s gift to us than why would He want someone to regret that life living a lie?
I’m sure most of you will reply with something from the bible. And to answer your question Joseph- No, I haven’t read the bible. I do not belong to a religion. I spend my Sunday mornings with my family. I cut the middle man out of it- “the church” and talk to God directly.
I’m sure you will all have your judgements about that as well.

(18) Tammy says:

Yes, all of you pray for him. I
ll pray for the 3 year old little girl that died because her mother set her on fire. Or the preist that preys on yound children. Or all the othe horrible things in the world. By all means pray for Ray. He’s really what’s wrong in this world.

September 23, 2008 at 8:42 pm
(19) BRENDA says:

PAIGE—-SO OBVIOUS YOU HAVEN’T READ YOUR BIBLE! TAKE A CONCORDANCE AND LOOK UP THE WORD “SEXUAL MORALITY”. I THINK YOU’LL FIND PLENTY OF SCRIPTURE PERTAINING TO SEX AS A MORAL ISSUE. CUTTING OUT THE “MIDDLE MAN” AS YOU PUT IT IS UNBIBLICAL IN AND OF ITSELF. THE BIBLE PLAINLY SAYS, “FORSAKE NOT THE ASSEMBLING OF YOURSELVES WITH ONE ANOTHER.” THAT MEANS YOU GO TO CHURCH. JUST IN CASE YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND. IT’S NOT ABOUT WHAT YOU CAN DO ON YOUR OWN OR WITH YOUR FAMILY ON SUNDAY MORNING. YOUR FAMILY CANNOT TAKE YOU TO HEAVEN. IT’S A GOD THING,AND IF YOU KNEW HIM AS YOUR LORD , YOU WOULD DEFINITELY KNOW THAT. YOU ARE RIGHT ABOUT ONE THING THOUGH, GOD DOES LOVE US ALL. HE LOVES US TOO MUCH TO LET US BE DECEIVED ABOUT SUCH A LIFESTYLE. HE LOVES RAY THE WAY HE IS, BUT HE LOVES HIM TOO MUCH TO LEAVE HIM THERE.I WILL PRAY FOR RAY AND I WILL ALSO PRAY FOR YOU.

September 23, 2008 at 9:02 pm
(20) Lewis Moore says:

When I heard the news the Lord impressed me to pray about this situation. What the body of Christ needs to know is that this is spiritual warfare. If we do not pray against this spirit of perversion, other Christian leaders will be coming out of the closet in an attempt for the devil to swing the vote on gay marriage.

September 24, 2008 at 2:14 am
(21) Elizabeth says:

I just urge all of us christians to pray for those of us who are just living outside christian principles. Let’s not judge but help by praying cos that’s all we can do to help our fellow brother Ray. May God show him the way to Christ. In God we trust!

September 24, 2008 at 2:34 am
(22) Joseph says:

Paige – First off, I do not wish sound as if I’m attacking you for your response and I don’t think that BRENDA should have written in all caps to you but I do agree with her about going to church. Christ loved the church and died for it. Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; The church is an assembly of believers and not a building. Another way of putting it would be that the church meets in the building the building is not the church. When you say you’re cutting out the middle man your cutting out Christ. He’s the middle man in our salvation, our hope and our faith. I too used to not want to go to church so I understand where your coming from. I don’t know your exact reason why but my excuse was because it was full of hypocrites so why go. My father, a non church goer himself, said to me, “So you’re letting someone else dictate where and how you worship.” I really started thinking and realize he was right. I was doing just that, letting the hypocrites dictate my worship. I now know, through my spiritual growth, that I’m not at church for the people or to impress the pastor or congregation, I’m there to learn about God and worship Him. Now as for the hypocrites and non believers in the church, that’s for God to judge and not me.
As for your sexual morality comment, below is a verse that does state the nature, unrighteous, and the result, will not inherit, of some moral issues. Please notice that of the 10 mentioned here 4 are sexual morality.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11 – Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. (NKJV)
This is why we should pray for Ray, and every homosexual, so that God will show him the error of his decision and change his heart. This most absolutely is a spiritual battle and must be fought in a spiritual manner, with prayer. I will be praying for Ray. Paige the only thing that I would like to ask of you is to pick up your bible and just read one book. The book of John is a good place to start but please read one.

September 24, 2008 at 8:36 am
(23) David says:

Regarding the comments I have read, I am very disturbed when people say “Don’t judge” taking the verse out of context. When the Bible clearly states something is sin and a Christian reiterates that sin is sin, this is not judging. Scripture judges or so to speak steps on our feet when it points out that our sin is actually “sin”. Ray should be dropped from his recording label and approached lovingly by those in his church regarding his sin. If he doesn’t repent, it is clear that he should be approached again. If he still refuses to repent, then the church should turn him away. We can love and pray for him, but hate his sin. While his music may have touched souls just as Michael English did before his “public” affair with another singer, it is clear in God’s Word that God will severely punish those who leave the natural use of the way God made them. When someone knowingly continually violates the Word of God, Christian record companies, media and radio stations should refuse to give them a platform for propagating their music or agenda. If this doesn’t happen, God will judge the companies and stations as well. God has called us to holiness. It’s not something we can attain with our personal mix of ideas as Ray wants to interject. That’s why the Word of God gives us clear direction on what is right and holy.

September 24, 2008 at 9:46 am
(25) Michael Ragusa says:

We are to hate the sin, not the sinner. Sin was already judged at Calvary some 2000 years ago. Remember, it is also written about homosexuality:

Genesis 2:24 NIV
For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.

Leviticus 18:22; 20:13 NCV
” ‘You must not have sexual relations with a man as you would a woman. That is a hateful sin.’ “…
” ‘If a man has sexual relations with another man as a man does with a woman, these two men have done a hateful sin. They must be put to death. They have brought it on themselves.’ ”

Romans 1:27-32 NCV
In the same way, men stopped having natural sex and began wanting each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and in their bodies they received the punishment for those wrongs.

28 People did not think it was important to have a true knowledge of God. So God left them and allowed them to have their own worthless thinking and to do things they should not do.29 They are filled with every kind of sin, evil, selfishness, and hatred. They are full of jealousy, murder, fighting, lying, and thinking the worst about each other. They gossip30 and say evil things about each other. They hate God. They are rude and conceited and brag about themselves. They invent ways of doing evil. They do not obey their parents.31 They are foolish, they do not keep their promises, and they show no kindness or mercy to others.32 They know God’s law says that those who live like this should die. But they themselves not only continue to do these evil things, they applaud others who do them.

Galatians 5:16-26 NCV
16 So I tell you: Live by following the Spirit. Then you will not do what your sinful selves want.17 Our sinful selves want what is against the Spirit, and the Spirit wants what is against our sinful selves. The two are against each other, so you cannot do just what you please.18 But if the Spirit is leading you, you are not under the law.
19 The wrong things the sinful self does are clear: being sexually unfaithful, not being pure, taking part in sexual sins,20 worshiping gods, doing witchcraft, hating, making trouble, being jealous, being angry, being selfish, making people angry with each other, causing divisions among people,21 feeling envy, being drunk, having wild and wasteful parties, and doing other things like these. I warn you now as I warned you before: Those who do these things will not inherit God’s kingdom.22 But the Spirit produces the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,23 gentleness, self-control. There is no law that says these things are wrong.24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified their own sinful selves. They have given up their old selfish feelings and the evil things they wanted to do.25 We get our new life from the Spirit, so we should follow the Spirit.26 We must not be proud or make trouble with each other or be jealous of each other.

I used to be that way myself, until the Holy Spirit convicted me of that sin and I repented. Now I am free from the sin of homosexuality [praise God! :) ] and look forward to the day when the Lord provides a godly woman for me.

Ray Boltz is no longer a believer. He has joined forces with the enemy of our souls by deliberately sinning against the true God. He has thus become an enemy of God and must repent or face dire consequences. There’s no if’s, and’s, or but’s about it. Remember the Scripture about those who call themselves believers but prove otherwise?

1 Corinthians 5:9-13 NCV
9 I wrote you in my earlier letter not to associate with those who sin sexually.10 But I did not mean you should not associate with those of this world who sin sexually, or with the greedy, or robbers, or those who worship idols. To get away from them you would have to leave this world.11 I am writing to tell you that you must not associate with those who call themselves believers in Christ but who sin sexually, or are greedy, or worship idols, or abuse others with words, or get drunk, or cheat people. Do not even eat with people like that.

12-13 It is not my business to judge those who are not part of the church. God will judge them. But you must judge the people who are part of the church. The Scripture says, “You must get rid of the evil person among you.” –Deuteronomy 17:7; 19:19; 22:21, 24; 24:7.

(26) patrick says:

obviously, i am shocked by the news that RAY has allowed the devil to deceive him into believing that God made him that way (gay). He was a blessing to me but the christian community should not compromise with him and allow him to believe that he can be a christian and gay at the sametime.

September 24, 2008 at 9:57 am
(27) patrick says:

This was shocking to learn that Ray he allowed himself to be deceived by beleiving that God made him as homosexual. The christian community should make it clear to Ray that his views are totally contrary to the basis of christian belief. Ray should repent since God hates homosexuality even more that other sins and it is disrespectful and obsurd to claim that God made homosexuals.

(28) Terry Novay says:

In Romans Chapter 1-verse 18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness. verse 19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 22 Professing themselves to be wise they became fools; verse 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. verse 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
Ray knows the truth in Jesus, pray for him you who are spiritual and restore him back to the truth and we will have covered a mulitude of sin.

(29) suprchick says:

Eek. A “normal gay life” is a life where one has decided his predilection for sin doesn’t matter, we all come with that sin nature hard-wired, and may as well embrace it. A “normal gay Christian life,” if there is such a thing, would be sorta like my “normal” straight Christian single life, where I know that to choose to follow my urges rather than to follow my Lord is a sin, and resist it every day. I don’t understand how so many people can claim to be Christians and completely ignore that.

First let me say, we have all fallen short of the Glory of God. It His mercy that saves us from our sinful nature! However, if I came out after 30 years in the ministry and said I was a pedophile and that’s just what I am that’s the way God made me (in His image). Then could God be a pedophile? Could it be He is homosexual? Is He an adulterer, drunker etc…we make these lifestyles our image. That is not the image of God. I will not condemn him either. The fact that Ray Boltz has said that he read the scriptures and he couldn’t change, that man has condemn himself. (Remember the rich youg ruler, he didn’t want to leave his lifestyle either). I will also say he had better come to terms with his sinful nature or he simply will not make it. The verse we all need to reflect on is Matthew 7:13-14 please read it. Few there be who find it!
I don’t care how many great songs you have written or books you have pinned, the fact of the matter will be what did we do with what Our Lord Jesus Christ said and did we lead an obedient life.

(34) Paige says:

Hello Joseph- The answer to your question about church is pretty much the same as your reason. I see and have been to quite a few churches that ask for money but then what do they do with it? It’s like they are a business instead of a place of worship and community. The pastor drives nice cars and there are huge screens, big sound systems and all sorts of other frills. I have only been to one church that gave that money back to the community instead of to the church.
Regarding the bible, I will start with the book you suggested. Thank you.

I believe Ray has bought into a lie and it hurts that he has publicly announced this information. How can someone write & sing such beautifil lyrics and get caught up in this sin? Being gay is a lifestyle choice. No one is born gay! I believe Ray can be a Christain but has convinced himself that his sin is okay because God must have made him that way. Ray, you are so wrong and you are encouraging others against God’s holy word with your lie. I do pray that you repent from your sin & when you do publicly declare that you were wrong.

OKAY,I USE CAPS BECAUSE IT IS QUICKER FOR ME TO TYPE THAT WAY. KIND OF THE WAY YOU USE B/C BECAUSE YOU DON’T WANT TO TYPE OUT THE WHOLE WORD. SO, FORGIVE ME IF I OFFEND YOU WITH MY CAPITAL LETTERS. I SEE NO DIFFERENCE IN THAT AND THE WORD “TYPICAL” SO TAKE FROM IT WHATEVER YOU WILL.

(38) Charles says:

I recently was introduced to Ray Boltz’s music through some old compliation CD’s (Songs 4 Life, etc.) I love and will still listen to some of the songs that he sang. That said, he has made a choice that the Bible says is sin. He is a man who knows what the Bible says and has clearly made his choice.

Rather than condemn him, this is a great opportunity to look inside ourselves and ask what sins do I have that I am not confessing and repenting. Jesus, said to remove the log from our own eye before we try to remove the twig from someone else’s eye. I do not practice homosexuality, but I do try to live and control my own life rather than letting God be on the throne. While I have confessed this and daily turn from it, it has been something I’ve done since I was very young and have to remember to turn from it daily. I also have setup an accountability partner (a friend) to talk to when I am trying to “put my throne above God’s throne”.

We all sin. Christ’s death, burial and ressurection took the penalty for that sin, but I still have a responsibility to live my life in a way that is pleasing to God. When I do not, I have to confess and turn from my sin.

My point is: Don’t condemn Ray Boltz for his sin – pray for him, and then pray for yourself (and me) as we turn from our own sins whatever they are and whenever they crop up in our lives.

And last, to the man who said Ray will corrupt or children… It is unlikely that our children will be corrupted if we sit down with them, talk to them about Ray’s choice and how God views it. Help him or her see that God’ way is better in a non-condemning way.

It must have been hard for Ray to sing, Our God Is An Awesome God especially when he got to,

Another example of the “falling away” we were warned about…you might want to start listening to the sermon series “What in the World is Going On?” on Turning Point with Dr. David Jeremiah. Every week, he is using Scripture pitted with current events (financial & oil crises, Isalm & Axis of evil, etc.) to help all believers who will listen & watch understand just that. Oneplace.com should have the series available. And read the book of the same title, please! Last days prophecies are becoming headlines every day!

This is one of the most shocking things I’ve heard in a long time. I can’t believe that He would say that God whom he professed to serve made him gay though. God hates homeosexuality so why would He make someone gay? Hes closer to God then hes ever been alright. In the way that he don’t want to be.

Paige – I will pray for you that God will lead you and you family to a good and Godly church. A good church will make it’s accounts available to the congregation. What I mean is they post it or will give willingly to any one who asks for a list or breakdown of how the money is used. My last church, and I only say ‘my last’ because I recently moved, would post their spendings in the Sunday bulletin. It showed the building fund, missions fund, family fund(monies used to help out families in need), and others. They were very open with this information. As I said, I will pray that God leads you and yours to a Godly church. Also, I will pray, and you pray, that as you read the Bible that God will open you eyes, mind and heart as you read. I have been a Christian for quite a while now and I still pray that as I read. It’s a way of telling God I want to know what your saying please show me.God Bless you Paige,Joseph

So many “Christians” with so much to say about someone else’s life, whose shoes they can’t stand in and whose heart they cannot know because THEY ARE NOT GOD and seem to love to drink from the cup of temptation to stand in GOD’s shoes. Give the guy a break already. If it’s not your battle, put your Bible-ammo down and pray for God’s will in the guys life and not your own. You may very well think you know what that is, but at the same time have no earthly. “Christian” well-intended, but misdirected concern comes off as ‘ignunce’ and kills untold numbers of GLBT people every year….through suicide. The Church has blood on its hands, because it kills people by neglect, the very same ones it claims to ‘love and care about’. There’s no love in most of these posts, and that is anti-christ. There is nothing of God in a controlling, manipulative and self-deceiving spirit, whereby you say you love God and hate your neighbor, and make both lie. There is nothing Christian about that no matter how you sugar-coat it and call it “good”. Ugly is ugly, even if it’s wearing make-up.
To Brother Ray, all I can say is that your music still blesses me and I am glad for you and praise God that you made it through, and that your faith in the God you serve, who knows you and made you GAY has kept you for such a time as this. God bless you and your family, cause his grace and mercy to shine on you. You are a brave soul…keep trusting the Spirit of Jesus who keeps you safely.

(45) Jess says:

Sorry. Words got cut somehow. Just pray for the Lord’s will and Ray’s life and let it be. That is the best way you can leave it, up to God as to how and when He wants to do His job. The man has been saved for years..you may not understand his situation, the gay piece, etc., but trust that God does and leave it alone. There is nothing more ungodly among “godly” people, but a mob mentality, like when you have to get out your Bible and start quoting verses, because you get an ego-trip over the sense of control it gives you…No! Now it’s time to go to a CODA Meeting (Yes…that’s for CoDependents Anonymous..learn how to stop being codependent with each other AND with God.) Stop minding other people’s business, pray for God’s will in the guy’s life and LET IT BE!” You might wonder why I say this…well I love Jesus might the Church is psychologically deranged and needs prayer itself. It has become its own worst enemy and has spiritually bordered upon becoming what it has long feared most. Many unbelievers would rather do a decathalon than be dragged to church to become like so many believers who are so addicted to being “right” about everything that they are of no Godly value to affect change for the Kingdom, now. Prreach the Gospel in tender humility in how you live out your life, and if necessary, use words.

I support Ray completely. I do not believe that he is sinning by being honest that he is gay. And I do agree with him that God probably did make him that way. I support him completely and am very upset that he was dropped from his label. The only way to get his records now is from used CD dealers and the prices are skyrocketing. It disturbs me greatly that my friends who have come out as gay have had to leave the Christian Church because they have been judged.

(47) Randy says:

Puolos,
perhaps you need a refresher course on Christian music of the ’80’s. Rich Mullins wrote and sang Awesome God, not Ray Boltz. And as far as Ray Boltz’s sexuality having anything to do with his God-given talent to write music, if he had been honest with himself from the early years, how many millions of people, both heterosexual and homosexual, may not have become a child of
God. No one can judge Ray Boltz that hasn’t been through what he has. Imagine if God’s word said that it was sinful for a man to sleep with a woman; how would you handle your sexual tendencies. I don’t care what ANY genome project says, I know what he is going through. The only difference is that I, like so many, haven’t had the will to let anyone know. And thousands of people have heard his songs through me singing them; how many of them may not have found God except through my songs. I don’t expect anyone of you to understand but I certainly do.

(48) Amy Plummer says:

I lost a child 8 years ago. He was very sick and his illness drawn out. My son David was my 5th child. During that time just breathing was painful. After his death living was unbearable. If it were not for Ray Boltz and his music I don’t know I could have survived.

Ray Boltz doesn’t even know me and yet his sacrifice and his family’s sacrifice in their choice to serve the Lord saved my life and carried my family through some of the roughest days of our lives.

I can tell you when I turned to Dr. Dobson my family recieved no help.

When we turned to our church they condemded us because our faith was weak.

When I turned on my CD player Ray Boltz reminded me that “No matter what tomorrow brings, I will praise the Lord.” and when my when my faith was weak he reminded me that “I pledged alliegnce to the Lamb”

I will always love Ray Boltz and his family for their choice to serve the Lord even when the rest of us chose to only focus on our own families.

Ray Boltz will probably never know how many people he has helped walk with God during times of deep trials but I want the world to know that Jesus Christ loves and died for Ray Boltz, too.

One year ago when our house burned down and we lost all we had, I went to the store and bought a Ray Boltz CD because once again he remined us that “No matter what tomorrow brings, I will praise the Lord.”

Though we lost all our things, my husband and all six of our children survived. This was a miracle as our fire happened at 1am when we were all sound asleep in our beds.

My family will continue to Praise the Lord. We will also continue to love and pray for Ray Boltz and his family. While I do wish he had not chosen this path I do know he is God’s chosen and will continue to be until the day he goes home.

As for me and my family we will continue to serve the Lord. We will also be very happy to say “Thank You” to Ray Boltz for serving the Lord when we have the opportunity to meet him in heaven.

While I agree with not throwing stones, I’m convinced the issue of homosexuality urges us to seek the heart of God to know Him more. The idea that being born gay is similar to being born to an alcoholic family compares apples to oranges. Most of us were born to heterosexual parents, including those in our midst who identify as gay. Imagine if you were required to repress your heterosexual identity your entire life? That’s a more accurate comparison than the alcoholic/gay one. Rather than throw stones, let’s examine our own hearts. Why do gay people present such a threat to my faith that I become intensely defensive? What about passages in the Bible that teach our responsibilities for social justice? Remember that ugly spectre of slavery in our history? Christians disagreed sharply over the issue, and churches even split. In fact, Congressmen quoted Scriptures on the Senate floor during debates to reinforce their support for slavery! Someone who is gay must get on his/her face before God and seek Him … then, follow Him. Those who aren’t and feel confused or afraid must likewise get on their faces before God and seek Him … allow His convicting Spirit to search us until we rest in His Presence … and then, follow Him. Today, if you will hear His Voice, do not harden your hearts. You might hear Him gently whisper that His House is a House of Prayer for ALL people.

Ray Boltz is clearly being deceived by the world and Satan. He has taken the attitude that anything goes “God made me this way..” Sorry Ray but you know just like the rest of us, that God simply does not make you gay. He made ADAM AND EVE! That was God’s first miracle of mankind, making us. He made Eve from the rib of man, she/women is to be a part of a man. not man and man. If he has truly read the scriptures and all the books on what the Bible says he has simply turned a blind eye and deaf ear. I would not want any Christian to take from this that its okay to be gay. Christ died on the cross for us, how can we scoff Him, by coming out as gay. God does not make homosexuals, he created man knowing he would sin but he did not make anyone gay. Its a sin. Ray needs to be prayed for! There is nothing stronger then prayer. I am not saying Ray has never accepted Christ, but I would question his profession. If Christ is dwelling in you how does Satan get such a strong grip?
Lord we come before you, cause you alone are worthy to judged, and You alone can help Ray Boltz to truly understand You plan for humanity never included men and men.

(51) jodi says:

What I can’t understand is how Ray said that he knew that he was gay since he was a child. I don’t know about most people but thinking about whether I was heterosexual or homosexual didn’t happen to me. Why would a young child even think about that? The only thing I can think of is that someone made that an issue for him. Maybe he was molested. I don’t know that for sure but, it just seems odd to me.
I know that God doesn’t make us gay. And also, we are all born with the same condition and it’s called sin nature… and we have to give it over to God and agree to live under His authority. And if He tells me that something is wrong.. then it’s wrong. If He tells me that I’m a sinner.. then I’m a sinner that needs to be saved.
I can’t continue to live my doing whatever I want when I want…. I have to submit my will and seek His ways.

My best friend was married to a man that came out after they were married for a couple of years. She saved herself for this marriage and he finally told her that he was gay. She actually caught on after he had been having numerous affairs and forced her to seek medical attention.

He continued live a homosexual lifestyle for many years and said that he was a Christian too. However, many years later he called her and told her that this man had left him and that he was sick.

He also told her that he knew he was not right in trying to live a gay man and call himself a true Christian. He said he knew in his heart that it was wrong.

I asked how it made her feel and what did she think drove the homosexual lifestyle and she told she could sum it up in one word… selfish.

Let’s face it we all “sin” and everyone of you “Christians” live with secret sin and you know it or you are lying throught your teeth. Who knows if homosexuality is any more a sin than manipulating scriptures, judging(which goes against the words of Christ) gossip, or glutony(billions of super- obese Christians living non repentent lifestyles of gorging on big macs and sucking down 2 liters of cola). You all can quote scriptures until you are red in the face but that is all you have and you know it. Mr. Boltz at the very least is being honest with himself. Can you bible thumpers say the same? How many of you are taking up snakes or wearing headcoverings(sorry my amish and mennonite friends)? Tatoos anyone? Oh yeah, the law of Moses is dead and superceded by the new testament teachings of Christ. Christ never mentioned homosexuality if I am not mistaken. Jesus would probably say “too many stone-casters and not enough lovers”. Jesus Shaves

As a Christian, gay person, I am shocked at the homophobia, bigotry and ignorance of many of you. I KNOW God created me as a gay person – end of story I’m stickin’ to it!! Remember the words of the great Jewish teacher Hillel, who paraphrased Jesus when he said “Love one another as you love yourself, do unto others as you would want to be done. On this HANGS ALL THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS.” Love, not law, rules.

God knows who His children are no matter where they are on their path. “Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Phil 1:6

I believe in Daniel 11:35 that many who have understanding will fall, will be tried and will be purged — so that they will be ready for the END.

I can say all of this because I have been there. I lived the lesbian life for 18 years — even though I was a God seeking person. But God is faithful in leading me into all truth. I learned many valuable while I was walking down the lesbian path. I am thankful for where I have been so that I could see the awesomeness of the mercy of God.

You who is without sin, cast the first stone.

did you tell your children sorry? what about the woman you married? what about the God you ‘claim’ to serve??

REPENT because Jesus is coming back for the SAINTS not fags.. the signs are clear. Change your ways and change them at once. you barely have time.. i’m sorry for being so raw, but sometimes you need to hear things that way..

my mom loves your songs, you were a great vessel for God.. not anymore.. the devil found a way to take you down. don.t stay down..

remember, the anchor (Christ) holds in spite of the storm.. it’s time to get out of the storm.. he will help you. i’m not trying to make the decision for you, just trying to give you some wisdom.. i think you need it.

Paige and Brenda……. I was so annoyed with the both of you during this ” Ray Boltz thing”. Its not about either one of you and you are arguing over the computer. Childish!!!!! Nobody will ever see things the same way. The Bible CLEARLY states what God feels about homosexuality. No candy coating the word of God but….. we leave it up to God to judge. We are to love everyone no matter what sin they take part in. We are not better than the homosexual if we gossip, lie, fornicate , commit adultery , or any of the many other sins stated in the Bible. So get over yourselves and pray, pray, pray. I surely want to get the plank out of my own eye before I could see clearly to get the tree out of my brother’s eye. So all of you the live with out sin, CAST THE FIRST STONE.
LOVE EVERYONE, HATE THE SIN.

I love listening to all those ” so called Christians” out there. I am a devout Christian but I am homosexual! Unless you personally have been through the struggle of coming out you have no grounds on which to speak on. I am 19 years old and was raised Baptist , southern baptist might I add. The secret that I was hiding was causing me so much stress that it was affecting my health severely. I was to the point of coming out or committing suicide both of which are supposed sins! I donor believe that homosexuality is a sin. It is who you are! Am I upset that I will never have a wife… Yes! But I am so happy having just recently come out of the closet. But guess what?! I’m going to have children and will be an excellent dad ! I’m so proud of Ray Boltz!!! I’m sure there are plenty in the Christian music industry who are struggling like we were. God made us this way! Homosexuality is not a choice!! So all of you judgmental Christians, shut up! You have ni clue what you are talking about !!

May 12, 2009 at 2:14 am
(58) Jason says:

Okay…the Bible says that about homosexuality.

Let’s take something else literally:

First, the Bible says that “all liars shall have their place in the Lake of Fire.” We’ve all told a lie, so that means we’re all going to hell, Christian or not.

Second, men can’t go to Heaven. Only women. Why?
The Bible says Christ is coming back for his bride. Men can’t be brides. Men, we’re going to Hell, Christian or not because a man can’t be a bride.

Yet, the Bible says that plainly, no questions asked, yet how many of us twist and turn that to make it, oh what’s the word I’m looking for… “convenient”?

The Bible also says “WHOSOEVER WILL.” That means anyone, it didn’t say anyone except gay people.

I think we need to stop the little “witch hunt” and pray for him. Lay down the torches and lift him up in prayer.

Do you honestly think that God can’t use anything He wishes? That’s what you’re saying when you say that Ray Boltz is no longer “usable”.

It’s wrong! Do you really listen to the words you sing? God is pure and holy. We all sin and all as Christians try and turn from our sins. Praying that the words of your songs to my Lord and Savior will not sway others to follow you and your life style.

(60) Daniel says:

It’s very sad but a reminder that Satan really is a very real enemy who will take anyone he can and twist the truth to attempt to deceive. I have been blessed tremendously over the years and have sung along with Ray many times in my car, many times being moved to tears. I will certainly continue to pray for Ray Boltz as I don’t believe we can continue willfully in sin and be overcomers in the end. The Bible mentions several times about the last times and the deceiving the devil will be doing . Let’s humbly fall on our faces and ask God to keep us from being hood winked. I love your songs and music Ray and hope you “repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand”. By the grace of God I would like to join you in singing that “new” song in heaven. To all of you who are christians my challenge is to keep praying and let the Fruit of the Spirit flow through you.

I have been a Ray Boltz fan for years. His music has long-been and inspiration to my family. I just recently learned about his ‘coming out’. I am so disappointed. I considered trashing all my CDs with his music. However, I have chosen only to pack them away for now. I will pray for his repentance and hope that he will renounce his new lifestyle as a temporary foray into sin. As many of these commentors note, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” So long as Ray Boltz is living within an ongoing, blatant sin, I cannot listen to the great music he has produced. But I look forward to the day when he writes a new chapter in his testimony, renounces the homosexual lifestyle, and becomes an example to all the others that Jesus forgives and offers new beginnings for anyone.

Ray you better believe me on this one. The Christian Army is the only army in the world that will shoot its own wounded! The scriptures are so simple on this that it took a simple little person to open my eyes about the gay parts, sodom and gomorrah, romans corrinthians that when it speaks of these abhorrant things it is talking about straight folks doing what is ungodly, not those that were born that way. Read the verses very carefully. I always thought it was so anti gay. The scriptures never speak of gays and homorphodites that are born the way they are. That 10% God created for a reason and its not up to some hypocritical preacher to judge. Think of the people that Ray’s music led to Christ. It was in Gods plan for Judas to betrae his Son. IT WAS PLANNED BY GOD. So think about what may have happened to Judas in the end.
