A Christmas Message From Phil Keaggy
Phil Keaggy has written a Christmas letter to fans and friends ... "Hi everyone—God bless, greetings, Christmas salutations and all that is good!
This December 2008 finds us with grateful hearts for the love of the Bethlehem Child who grew in stature before God and man—Who went about doing good healing those who were oppressed of the devil. He came as the Light into this dark world—for God so loved it. He loved everyone and proved that love by becoming flesh and dwelt among us. He lived a life that honored the Father—did those things which pleased Him, but His purity, honesty and courage riled His enemies. “Why do the nations rage?” Ps 2:1
To me Jesus is still the best news that has ever come to this broken world. The Gospel changes lives—it has proven to be the great inspiration for all that is good among men. It saddens me when people say Christianity has caused wars. True followers of Jesus never start wars. The difference in our Leader, the Lord Jesus Christ, is that He laid down His life and defeated our common enemy—that one who seeks to steal, kill and destroy. John 10:10. So…again, this year I celebrate the Precious Lord Jesus.
This past month, Bernadette and I, as well as our daughter Olivia, other artists and friends visited the Holy Land. I’ve always wanted to see Israel, but didn’t realize that I would have that experience. Needless to say, it was well worth it - to see the Sea of Galilee and walk where our Lord walked, taught and demonstrated the great love He had for us by surrendering to the evil that slew Him. Seeing Gethsemane, Golgotha and the empty grave was soul stirring. We have wonderful pictures of that visit. I came back to Nashville inspired to write more music and I wrote 3 new verses to John The Revelator and recorded two new versions of it. Also I wrote music for Psalm 122 and other passages. We also had a 2 wonderful tour guides who walked us through these lands both historically and spiritually. I pray that many of you will one day get to see Israel—where the Lord Jesus was born and shall return ultimately return.
May the Light of the world shine on this Christmas time for you all.
Phil Keaggy
PS... many thanks to all of you who came out to the Master and The Musician shows last Spring. It was great seeing you there. Peace~~
