Help ... I've Fallen and I Can't Get Up! (Songs for People Who Feel Separated From God)
In today's ecomonic crisis, everywhere you look, you see suffering. Good people are losing their jobs, their homes and sometimes even their hope. Christians aren't immune to what is going on. Let's face it ... every Christian goes through trials and tribulations in life and this crisis is no different. Yes, as your faith matures, you will find it possible (and sometimes even easier) to win the battles, but there will be times that you feel like you just can't win; times when you feel like you've fallen and you just can't get back up. There will be times when you feel like God isn't listening or answsering.
When you find yourself in the middle of one of those times, take heart. Plenty of other Christians have found themselves in pools of darkness, unable to see where the darkness ends and the light begins. The following songs describe those times perfectly and will help you make it through.

A revalation came to me one day….why is it that I am choosing secular music and just following along to tunes that are singing about drinking, drugs or unfaithful relationships? The lyrics in the lastest popular songs just aren’t my thing (ie, drinking in LA, etc.). I want to listen to music that fills my soul and that is appropriate for the teenagers and children that are in my life. When one really examines the lyrics and ideas behind most of the popular songs on the radio I think you will find that most of them are not appropriate for children and families. Perhaps you should look up the lyrics too. I switched to Christian music because of the values that are behind the songs.
We just released a beautiful album that has to do with music that deals with songs for people who feel seperated from God. This whole ALBUM features songs about God’s AMAZING GRACE, UNMERITED MERCY and UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! Check it out at markreynoldsmusicministry.org
I only listen to Christian music also. The way I figure it, scripturally and from experience, music brings the presence of the Holy Spirit. So it stands to reason that Satan, the great imitator, brings his own spirits through his music such as Despair, Suicide,Murder etc. You would be amazed what several different popular secular groups have admitted their agenda was. King David had musicians and singers on three different eight hour shifts so as to have music played twenty-four hours continually at the Ark of the Covenant where the presence of God dwelt during the old testament. Try playing holy music in your own home continually. I have a 300 cd changer that plays constantly. The atmosphere and clean feeling will be something you can physically feel when you come home from work. Besides all that there is a simple test: “Would Jesus listen to this song?” If not than you shouldn’t be either. “Do not love the world or the things of the world.”
Interesting topic.
When I’m challenged by events of the world, no matter the source, I know those are the times to be even more intentional about maintaining my conversation with God. AND not get caught in my conversation with myself.
Music is great because the right tunes give you a chance to ‘hear’ praise. The list you have on the other page is good.
I suggest checking out last years Top 10 Christian Albums which has a number of great artists, different genre’s and moods.
You can find the list at http://www.top10christianalbums.com
Enjoy!
God bless.
