Follow me on:

KutlessKutless and Casting Crowns aren't budging from the top spots in the chart this week but Phil Wickham, Sanctus Real and Needtobreathe all show up with new music that may eventually bring them crashing down.

(1) Gabriel :

Christian rock/rap is about as Christian as saying Christian porno or Christian gambling, Christian prostitution, Christian smokers and why not Christian wife swapping.
Christian rock/rap is an oxymoron.
Maybe Noah should had stopped being a ‘preacher of righteousness’ and started a band with his three sons?
Maybe John the Baptist should have done a concert in the water rather than demanding ‘fruit meet for repentance’ for people??
Maybe the ministry of Jesus would had lasted longer than 3 years if He and the 12 disciples would have started a rock band instead of upsetting the religious people??
Maybe if the acts from the book of Acts had the disciples wearing hip robes and singing to the heathen rather than preaching at them, they would not have been persecuted, jail and killed for their faith?
.
My 2 cents and keep the change

Larry (or Gabriel or whatever you called yourself here), I went and saw your site on Windows Live and see that Kutless is your favorite target right now. I’ve met and spent time with the guys from Kutless several times (which I doubt you can say). I’ve seen them do real MINISTRY from the stage and while talking to the fans. I’ve seen them away from the crowds, doing bible studies before shows. They don’t just talk the talk, they WALK the WALK!

You call yourself a pastor – yet you state that you “are going to hit these freaks hard this year.” These “freaks” are supposed to be your brothers in Christ (or didn’t you read Luke 10:25-28?) The worst “sin” you’ve been able to stone them for is a t-shirt you saw Jon Micah wearing in a photo that said “Rebel for Jesus” … oh, and they don’t smile enough to suit you in their PR pics. Seriously? If that is the key to getting into Heaven, then you might want to seriously rethink your own pic (stunner shades and no smile).

Or more to the point, perhaps you should spend more time reading Matthew 7:1-2 “Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.”

If you judge a man’s walk by his outward appearance, then you ask God to judge you by the same measure.

I have seen plenty of Christian rock bands and rappers doing MINISTRY for JESUS using their music as a tool (along with Scripture and prayer). They should be commended for working daily to grow the Kingdom, not attacked because you don’t personally like the methods that they use.
