Almost three years ago, Maureen Loya, a veteran group home counselor in Orange County, California, filed a lawsuit against the county because she was suspended for six weeks without pay in 2006 for exposing four teenagers to ten minutes of Christian music on the beach. According to her husband, Ricky, the trial finally starts tomorrow.
If you live anywhere other than Orange County, you may be wondering why you should follow this. If the county wins this case, a precedent will be set. The government will have the ability to define any "activity" as "Christian" if any Christian music can be heard during said activity. Example ... you are listening to a Christian song in your car on the way back to the office after lunch. You pull into your parking space and finish listening to the song with your window down. A co-worker who isn't a Christian is "exposed" to the music and complains to the boss that you turned the act of parking into a "religious event." You're written up, suspended, etc. Far fetched? Not to Maureen Loya. She was in charge of four teens on an approved beach outing. They sat down at the pier to eat and those kids heard approximately 10 minutes of music by Switchfoot that was playing at a surfing event. Orange County officials decided that a mere 10 minutes worth of music turned the whole day into an "religious activity."
Join with me in prayer that the court recognizes this suspension for what it was ... politically correctness gone well past amok.

what has happened to ONE NATION UNDER GOD??? don’t we have the freedom of religion under the first amendment?? arn’t our presidents swarn in with one hand on a bible?? don’t ALL witnesses in court have to stand and place one hand on a bible and swear to tell only the truth??? God is being taken out of our schools, is our country next. r we going to stand by and let the God who made us the America we are today be taken out of the picture?? i disagree with the suspension of this counsler!!! in my opinion it is a ridiculous sentence. god gave us all a choice.. to follow him or his enemy. therefore every person of every religion has the right to speak what they believe, whether christian or muslum or budisum…. whether we believe they r right or wrong…
Another example of our liberal law makers in action. I suppose hard hard core rock or rap would of been acceptable so that the teens could be exposed to profanity, rape, self mutilation, murder and violence. Lets face it the system rejects God because “God” makes them feel guilty and in need of a Saviour. They may try and take the “God” out of our society but by doing so, we condemn our nation to be destroyed.
It’s not “freedom FROM religion”, it’s freedom OF religion… facepalm.
Thank you Kim for following Maureen’s fight against the spiritual persecution at Orangewood Children’s Home, posting your article and supporting our cause!!
