Jason DunnAfter almost 10 years as the lead singer, founding Hawk Nelson member Jason Dunn will be leaving the band on May 15, 2012 to kick off his solo career as Lights Go Down. He's been busy recording his new venture over the past few months with producer Steve Kravac.  Tentatively titled Abandon Progress, the album will release sometime this summer.

In a press release, Jason said, "I will miss playing music on stage with my friends, but really looking forward to the future with Lights Go Down. I wish Hawk Nelson the very best with their future endeavors."

On their website, Daniel, Jonathan and Justin don't give any hints as to who will replace Jason. They simply say, "Jason is a brother, and we will miss everything he brings to the band. We know that God has a plan for him as well as for the future of Hawk Nelson. We're excited to share about the future of Hawk Nelson very soon, and we constantly give God all the praise and glory."
