2013 -- and then there were three. Universal Music Group and EMI used to compete against each other. Now that the buyout that merged the two giants is complete, the new entity, Capitol CMG Label Group, is one of three major players in the world of record labels, competing against Sony and Warner. The label started by Billy Ray Hearn in 1976 sure has come a long way.
