Guide Review - Three 5 and 6 - 'Urban Acappella'

Three 5 and 6 is an urban a cappella group from Sacramento, CA. This all male band debuted in 2000 and has performed to over 100,000 people. Their first full length CD "Urban A Cappella" was released in December of 2003.

From the album cover to the lyrics to the vocals ... this CD gets high marks. Three 5 and 6 blends gospel, hip-hop, funk and rap into a truly smooth groove. There are no negatives that I found with this release. The group is so obviously dedicated to Jesus Christ that you can't possibly miss the message they share. The songs are all energetic and uplifting. All in all, their debut release is positive, fun and smooth.

"Higher Ground" is my favorite cut off of the CD. It really showcases the way these guys imitate the R&B instrumental sounds with their vocals. "Arms Open Wide", "Unity" and "Universal Beat Box" are other favorites. You have 14 tracks to choose your favorites from, and chances are that you'll have more than one yourself.
