ROCK THE UNIVERSE 2003

THIRD DAY

With career sales of over 2 million records, multiple Dove Awards, and being named the prestigious Gospel Music Association's Artist of the Year, Grammy Award-winning Third Day has become a leader in the Christian music industry with its blend of Southern-tinged rock and motivating lyrics.

TOBYMAC

Known as a member of the ground-breaking Christian band dc talk, TobyMac has recently emerged as a successful solo artist. In his first solo album Momentum, the music ranges from hard rock to rap with inspiring lyrics. Toby garnered a 2003 Dove Award for Short Form Music Video of the Year.

NEWSBOYS

Formed in Queensland, Australia in the late 1980's, the Newsboys have become one of Christian pop's most accomplished ensembles, selling nearly three million records, earning numerous Grammy nominations, two gold records and multiple Dove Awards.

AUDIO ADRENALINE

For more than 10 years, Audio Adrenaline has been creating aggressive, innovative and compelling music. Having performed at Universal Studios Florida over the past several years, this band is a favorite with Rock The Universe fans. Audio Adrenaline recently earned a 2003 Dove Award for Rock Album of the Year.

PILLAR

The hard rocking quartet Pillar blends powerful beats with emotionally-influenced poetry. Pillar's dedication to their message and music has earned them three Dove Awards and recognition as one of the best hard-core Christian rock groups.

SUPERCHIC[K]

The all-female group, Superchic[k] combines irony with a high-energy pop sound to create a hope-filled message. With songs featured in popular TV shows and movies, this Midwestern pop group blends pop punk and hip-hop, all from their own garage.

BLEACH

Upbeat rock and positive energy are the main ingredients to Bleach's success. The band has been together for the past six years and writes many of their own songs, which have inspired fans worldwide.

SOULJAHZ

Fusing R&B, hip-hop and acoustic balladry, the San Diego siblings have musical influences that include Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and the Fugues. The band recently won a 2003 Dove Award for Urban Album of the Year.

SKILLET

With its edgy brand of industrial rock and aggressive live shows, Skillet has been on the cutting-edge of the Christian music scene since they debuted in 1996. Skillet has earned several Dove nominations and has had several #1 rock singles.

MERCY ME

Topping Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart, Mercy Me's hit crossover single, "I Can Only Imagine," has inspired both Christian and mainstream fans with its rock-infused message. The group's accomplishments include multiple Dove Awards and a gold album, "Almost There," which was the best-selling debut Christian album in 2001.

PAUL COLMAN TRIO

Getting its start in 1998, this Australian and American trio became the most successful independent artist in Australia's history. They dominated Australian radio and garnered the title of Artist of the Year in 2000 and 2001, as determined by The Rock Across Australia charts.

THE ELMS

Recently named on CCM Magazine's list (Contemporary Christian Music Magazine) of "Most Important Artists Shaping Music Today," the four members of The Elms pay tribute to great rock 'n roll in their recording and live performances. Their sophomore album, "Truth, Soul, and Rock 'n Roll" has also been recognized by CCM Magazine as "One of the 100 Albums You Need to Own."

TAYLOR

Taylor, a college senior, admits his pure rock and melodic pop styles reveal the influences of Elvis, U2, Bruce Springsteen and Marvin Gaye. His upcoming debut, a five-song EP set to release this October, explodes with his unique sound.

BIG DISMAL

A Florida-based quartet, Big Dismal's roots in rock 'n roll and country music have influenced its powerhouse music. The group's inspirational style reflects their strong faith, as they lyrically express life experiences.

JUSTIFIDE

This rock trio formed when brothers Jason and Sambo Moncivaiz and childhood friend Joey Avalos were still teenagers. Justifide's songs express the meaning and joy of life, while addressing real issues of young people.

ACROSS THE SKY

Both 21 years old, Ben Kolarcik and Justin Unger come together to form Across the Sky. The talented musicians combine positive lyrics with a blend of pop and rock styles to create their own unique style.

KRISTY STARLING

Kristy Starling - a musical talent discovered during NBC's "Today's Superstar" competition - was chosen from more than 4,000 entries, where she performed live before millions of viewers. Kristy was signed by Warner Bros. Christian Division and has released her debut album, "Water."

DAVID NASSER - SPEAKER

As one of the nation's foremost speakers, David Nasser has been involved with youths in revivals, citywide rallies, camps, and school assemblies. David speaks to over 700,000 people each year. Alongside his own full time ministry, David also works several times a year with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Team.

JAY STRACK - SPEAKER

Jay Strack, founder and President of the Student Leadership University, has been effectively communicating innovation and vision for 25 years. Chaplain to NBA teams and acclaimed by leadership in the business world, religious affiliations and education as a dynamic speaker, Jay's versatile style has been presented across the nation and globally in 22 countries.
