Lyrycyst Says...
  1. What is the most important thing that God taught you this year?

This year has been a rollercoaster of things God has taught me. I got married this year, so of course, God is teaching me new ways to love not only my wife, but Him as well. The most important thing I feel like I was taught this year, is to let go of the wheel a little bit. The hardest thing to do as a christian, is to be completely out of control, and be okay with that. At some point, we need to finally get in the passenger seat and just lay back for a while. If we really believe that God is who He says He is, then our stress levels and worries should be at an all-time low. I'm convinced that a very small portion of the church knows what it is to completely have to trust in God. I'm at a time in my life where I'm ready for anything. I know my mission, but I don't know the journey. But seeing that journey unfold is going to be half the fun.

  2. What is your number one New Years resolution for 2007?

Funny enough, my number one resolution for this year is to get outside of the church. As artists, we can't sit back and claim to reach the world if all we ever do is focus on the church. If all we ever do is perform for church events, do christian radio, and appear in christian bookstores, how do we ever reach those outside of those walls? I think back to before I was saved. None of my old friends went to the local christian bookstore to buy their new music. So this year is about the people perishing right in front of my eyes. My heart has been given to the broken people of the world, and it's time to get out there in front of them.
