Guide Review
WOW Gospel 2003
Listening to the WOW releases has always been a great way to get a mix of artists, old and new, and to have several favorites on one CD. This year is no exception. The presentation isn't broken down as clearly into traditional versus contemporary as in the past, but the blend presented can certainly be described as smooth. Mary Mary and Tonex offer something a little different and a lot wonderful. Newcomer Smokie Norful shows us that he's going to be here for years to come. Long time favorite Shirley Caesar brings us her usual fare - just plain great music. When you add in Brent Jones, Take 6, John P. Kee, Aaron Neville, Joe Pace, Keith Johnson and several other greats, it's no wonder that this WOW release has been called the best thus far.
