The Gospel Music Association Canada announced the nominees for the 2008 Covenant Awards in mid-October. A total of 55 Covenant Awards were then handed out on October 24 in a wide variety of categories. There was also a Lifetime Achievement Award given to Rhythm & News and a Blessings Fan Choice Award given to Jimmy Lalla.
