The SGN Music Awards are an annual award handed out each year by the staff at SouthernGospelNews.com. In January, the staff decides upon the nominees in over twenty categories. In February their readers vote for their favorites. This is the fourth year the awards have been in existence, but it is the first year for an awards ceremony.
The event was hosted by singer/songwriter/comedienne Sondra Burnett and Chris D. Unthank, Chart & Awards Coordinator for SouthernGospelNews.com and co-owner of SSE Group. The ceremony featured performances from the Crabb Family, the Isaacs, the Booth Brothers, Lauren Talley, Karen Peck & New River, the McRaes, Charlotte Ritchie, Hope’s Call, the Ruppes, The Imperials, Gordon Mote, the Collingsworth Family and host Sondra Burnett.
