The Bottom Line
Hyper Static Union went back a few decades to go old-school with Lifegiver - yet they added so many "now" elements ... successfully combining pop, rock and funk to make some incredible worship music for a new day and a new generation. Much like track 6, I just "Can’t Leave It Alone!"

Guide Review - Hyper Static Union - 'Lifegiver'
You can have great music, tight musicians and powerful lyrics (which Hyper Static Union has all of), yet without excellent vocals, the project will never make it past average. Thankfully, HSU lead vocalist Shawn Lewis doesn't have a thing to worry about. This guy has a voice that won't quit and while he soars, Third Day’s Mac Powell, who produced the project, makes sure that the overall mix is so tight that Shawn never over-shadows the music.
Tunes like "Lifegiver," "Right Where You Want Me" and "Good Fight" have some of the smoothest, funkiest grooves I've heard in a long while. When you add in the progressive guitar flair that is sprinkled liberally through out the album, harmonies that never miss a note, bass and drums that add the perfect amount of "umph" and lyrics that actually say something ... you've got a hands down winner!
Now here's the real rub ... This is a freshman release! Hyper Static Union - remember that name, because this is one of those bands that is going to make some really big waves!
