Guide Review - Tim Hughes - 'Love Shine Through'
Hillsong's Michael Guy Chislet, Jesus Culture's Kim Walker-Smith, Rend Collective Experiment and The Listening's Josiah Sherman lend their considerable talents to the project, as do songwriters like Delirious?'s Martin Smith and Stu G and Phil Wickham.
The title track, my personal favorite, brings to mind the old phrase, "Walk softly and carry a big stick." The power of this tune jumps all over you so completely that you will have to listen more than once just to be able to get past the "feeling" to really hear the lyrics. Another stand-out is the stunningly beautiful "Keep The Faith." Simple piano and strings carry this powerful song that reminds us to keep the faith, no matter where we find ourselves.
A simple and soft strength carries the entire album and those qualities will make Love Shine Through work equally well in church settings or personal worship time. Well done Tim!
