The Bottom Line

Punk isn't exactly my favorite style, but I have to admit, Eleventyseven caught my attention with And The Land Of Fake Believe. Their music is catchy and just plain fun. The energy is as obvious as the fact that these guys have something to say to the younger generation. The fun doesn't get in the way of the message.

  • There wasn't much to distinguish them from other punk bands, but hey, why try to reinvent the wheel?

Guide Review - Eleventyseven - 'And The Land Of Fake Believe'

These South Carolina natives may barely be old enough to vote, but don't let their age fool you into thinking that they don't have much to say. They remember the angst of being a teenager only too well, so they can relate to the younger generation easier than a band in their 30's could.

Stand out tracks include:

"More Than A Revolution" - The first hit single off of the release.
We need more than a revolution, something deeper than a false solution.

    "A Stellar Sayonara" - Break-ups are rough!
I spent all this time trying to convince myself that I don't need your smile and I don't need your kisses

"Here With Me" - A beautiful ballad to Jesus.
And you're so much more than wonderful, so much more than I can see. And I could spend forever hoping you'd be here with me.

For a debut release, the guys did really good! This album makes a perfect background for summer. My 11-year-old daughter has already staked her claim on my copy, so I know we'll be hearing it around here all summer long.
