Maher, Matt - Empty and Beautiful
Matt Maher is one of those songwriters that has something to say and he most definitely has the voice to say it. "Empty and Beautiful" will leave you anything but "empty!"
Maher, Matt - Welcome to Life
It doesn't matter if you're Catholic, Baptist, Methodist or any of the other Christian denominations, Matt Maher brings music to the table with his sophmore release that will bring you to your feet and then take you to your knees.
Manafest - Epiphany
Overall, this is a strong debut and it makes a big statement for this young artist.
McDonald, Shawn - Ripen
Ripen is one of the most intimate CDs that I've heard all year. Shawn's lyrics are as raw as they are powerful and everything about this CD is straightforward and from the heart.
MercyMe - Coming Up To Breathe
Reviewer Brian Jones says, "I feel certain that this outing will touch a lot of people because this CD deals with real issues and is what my wife call's relevant to what people are facing and feeling. This is it … these guys really reached deep and brought out something very special."
MercyMe - Undone
The third release from MercyMe is a 5-star winner.
Miller, Buddy - Universal United House of Prayer
Buddy Miller achieves what many artist only dream of…He successfully combines different musical styles to create his own unique and attractive sound in Universal United House of Prayer.
Milsap, Ronnie - Then Sings My Soul
Jolene Downs, from our Country music site, says that fans will find a mix of powerful, reverent and upbeat that will soothe their soul while they enjoy the message the music brings.
Miner, Kate - Prodigal Martha
Who would have ever thought that you could combine the haunting sounds of a flute, a little folk flair, a violin here and there and some hard driving rock to come out with a masterpiece?
Mission Six - Superhero
Christian Tween Band Mission Six's debut release, 'Superhero', will be music to any parents ears because these kids, ages 12 - 14, actually have something to say.
Monday Morning - Fools Paradise
Reviewer Brian Jones says, "Overall I found this CD to be well done and heartfelt."
Morris, Jeff – Everything
Reviewer Kevan Breitinger says, "There’s a nice diversity of styles on “Everything,” covering worshipful ballads to full-on rockers to radio-friendly pop."
Morse, Neal - One
Neal's second release is a 5-star winner with intricate songs and phenomenal musical talent.
Munizzi, Martha - No Limits Live
No Limits Live exemplifies Martha's ministry. Great music, lots of energy, a bit of preaching and a love of the Lord that comes through it all.
MVP - Triple Impact
This is his sophomore release and I'm predicting victory, although his testimony alone is the victory.
MXPX - 'On The Cover II'
About's own Ryan Cooper says that this album is really good and a lot of fun.
Needham, Jimmy - 'Not Without Love'
Christian singer / songwriter Jimmy Needham's 'Not Without Love' is good ... rainy day good; sun shining, convertable top down good; snow outside and a fire roaring in the fireplace good. Jimmy Needham has delivered another solid project that works regardless of what room you put it in.
Needham, Jimmy - Speak
The first thing that popped into my mind when I heard Jimmy Needham's "Speak" was "Wow! A male version of India Arie!" He's got soul, he's got a bit of jazz, he touches on pop and rock and he challenges you in your own walk every step of the way. This young man has a lot to say, and I suspect that over the years, we're going to hear much more from him.
Newsboys - Devotion
The second worship album from the Newsboys has material that is definitely not the witty Newsboys approach we've grown to expect over the past 16 years, but it is still a better than average modern worship project. Furler's self-produced "Devotion" is a solid offering that will be enjoyed by all who are able to open up their minds.
Newsong - More Life
12 great songs, including an absolutely beautiful duet with Natalie Grant, make this CD a 5 star winner.
Newworldson - Salvation Station
R&B, rock, reggae, old style gospel blues and jazz meet worship on Newworldson's debut release, "Salvation Station."
Nicholas - Inspirational Sounds, Volume 1
An older compilation of gospel songs from Nicholas Ministries, Palm Desert, CA; some live, some very ministry-oriented, some just fun to listen to.
Nicholson, Ed - Out of My Hands
A review of his third release, "Out of My Hands".
Nicole, Britt - Say It
Britt Nicole has a winner going with Say It. This girl has it all: talent, drive and a huge heart for ministry. This is one of those faces that you will be seeing a lot more of in the future.
Nordeman, Nichole - Brave
Reviewer Kevan Breitinger says, "Over the years we've come to expect great things from Nicole Nordeman, two-time Dove Award-winning Female Vocalist of the Year. Brave does not disappoint.
Norman, Bebo - 'Bebo Norman'
Bebo Norman outdid himself with his self titled release. As he grows as a man and a person, he shares his steps with the rest of us and makes our own burdens a little easier to carry. Like a fine wine, Bebo just seems to get better with age.
Norman, Bebo - Try
Bebo Norman's fifth studio album, Try, released two years after Myself When I Am Real.
O'Donnell, Erin - Christmas Time is Here
From Reviewer Kevan Breitinger - "Erin O'Donnell makes the season swing in a new and wonderful way."
O'Hern, Mary Lou - Not About You
Be the first one on your block to "discover" this new artist. Her debut CD will make you a fan quick, fast and in a hurry.
O.C. Supertones - Revenge of the O.C. Supertones
CD Review of the release "Revenge of the O.C. Supertones".
Oertli, Danny - Everything in Between
Reviewer Kevan Breitinger says, "From the rockers to the tender tunes, all songs encourage us to trust, trust, trust. But buyer beware ... if you don't want to hear truth, don't listen to this CD."
Olivia the Band - 'Where We Come From it Never Snows'
Where We Come From it Never Snows, the sophomore release from Hawaii-based band Olivia the Band comes out of the gate promising a lot of fun and in that aspect, it doesn't disappoint. The message found in the lyrics, one of being able to follow your dreams while still following God's plan for your life, is definitely one that our youth need to hear.
Olson, Michael - Long Arm of Love
Reviewer Kevan Breitinger says, "Olson's not going to rock any boats just yet, but that's not his mission. The talented instrumentalist (guitar, piano and drums) comes from a strong musical and Christian background and is here to sing of God's grace to the church and anyone else who is listening.
Owens, Ginny - Beautiful
Ginny Owens' third full-length release is her best to date.
Palisade - Palisade
Tight harmonies and honest lyrics combine to make this a better national debut offering than some reviewers would have you believe.
Parry, Lucas - Made to Fly
Reviewer, Kevan Breitinger says, "Most of these tunes are guitar-driven but he adds wonderful small touches that enrich each song significantly."
Passion – Everything Glorious
Reviewer Kevan Breitinger says, "Everything Glorious nicely captures the raw energy of the Passion experience, with the movement’s top worship leaders in attendance. This is sincere and authentic worship and it's hard not to love that. The only notable down-side is that this is their 9th release, so by now it may be a bit familiar."
Pastor Rudolph McKissick Jr. & the Word and Worship Mass Choir: What a Time!
CD Review of What a Time! - Pastor Rudolph McKissick Jr. & the Word and Worship Mass Choir
Patty, Sandi - Hymns of Faith ... Songs of Inspiration
Sandi Patty's "Hymns of Faith ... Songs of Inspiration" is a wonderful collection of songs that combines ol' time favorites with some beautiful patriotic songs and some anointed worship music.
Patty, Sandi - Songs for the Journey
Sandi Patty has been a mainstay in Christian music for the past 30 years, garnering her more awards than any other female Christian aritst. "Songs for the Journey" isn't really a "best of" type of album, but it does bring to mind the Sandi Patty of yesteryear.
Paul Colman Trio - One
The band's sophmore release was something of a let down for me. Not all bad, but more OK than great.
Peculiar People Band – Not Ashamed
Reviewer Kevan Breitinger says, "If you enjoy Tree 63 you’ll like these Peculiar People."
Phelps, David - Revelation
Outstanding everything ... no downsides to this release at all.
Phillips, Jill - Nobody's Got It All Together
This CD is definitely a keeper! Jill Phillips keeps it real through-out with real lyrics about real life. Without a doubt, Nobody's Got It All Together is one of the best releases of 2006 thus far.
Pillar - Where Do We Go From Here
The latest release from Pillar takes them back to what they do best - hard rock with a little rapcore and a lot of melody.
Planetshakers - My King Live Praise & Worship
Planetshakers is made up of Russell Evans, Sam Evans, Henry Seeley and Mike Guglielmucci. They have been described as the next-generation of cutting-edge modern Australian praise and worship. This live CD is called "modern, well played and solid" by reviewer Dave Bannister.
Point Of Grace - Winter Wonderland
Shelley Breen, Heather Payne, Denise Jones, and Leigh Cappillino have truly outdone themselves on Winter Wonderland. Their signature sound and perfectly blended harmonies come shining through as they take us back to the Christmas times of our youth, with a flair that definitely has some modern touches.
Poor Man's Riches - Energy
In 2003, Christianity Today named Poor Man's Riches as one of the Ten Independent Artists You Should Know and they were on the money. It's taken two years for PMR to release on a label, but it's been well worth the wait.
Precious Moments - Loving, Caring and Sharing
Precious Moments - Loving, Caring and Sharing - CD Review
Precious Moments - Precious Lullabies
A review of the second installment in the Precious Moments music releases.
Proctor, Todd - Found
A collection of mellow worship songs that may be especially useful as a background worship tool.
Promise Keepers - The Awakening
While this release offers a good selection of covers, it is a bit vanilla for my taste.
pureNRG - Here We Go Again
pureNRG didn't go backwards with the dreaded sophomore slump; they moved forward with a definite purpose. Unlike some of the bubble-gum pop saturating the airwaves today, this group of young people actually has something to say.
pureNRG
12 bubbly pop/dance tracks make this debut release from pureNRG a bulls-eye hit! They will fill the upcoming Jump5 void perfectly for the tween audience.
Red Umbrella - Wishing For Boardwalk
Canada's own Red Umbrella has hit the U.S. with their debut release, Wishing For Boardwalk. This isn't the everyday stuff here ... the music is different enough that it is pretty hard to categorize and it really grows on you the more you listen to it.
Roads To Rome - Love Rain Down
For a debut album, Road to Rome's music is surprisingly well done. The lyrics are all Christ centered, the music is quite talented and easy to listen to and the mix is on the money. The guys from Road to Rome are on to something good!
Ruis, David - Every Move I Make
This Vineyard leader has often been in the vanguard of the worship movement over the past 15 years and is a logical choice for their debut of the Vineyard Voice series, commemorating the music of key worship leaders.
Rush Of Fools - 'Rush of Fools'
Easy to like, easy to sing along with and showing great potential, Rush of Fools has what it takes to go far. I have high hopes that this group of talented, young musicians will grow into a strong presence in the Christian Music field. We definitely need more young leaders like these guys.
Rush of Fools - 'Wonder of The World'
The bottom line on Wonder of the World is that while Rush of Fools may not have re-invented the term "Modern Worship" here, they do have quite a bit to offer on their sophomore release. This young band grows with every passing year and every show that they do. I look forward to hearing what they come up with next.
