'Fools Paradise' - The Review
Selective Records recording artist Monday Morning offers up a good effort in their debut outing with
Fools Paradise. This is a good collection of well written songs that are filled with strong lyrics and a well rounded message. The guys seem willing to step into waters on some real life topics that many find uncomfortable and often times are unwilling to go deep into, but theses guys seem willing to push the envelope. I found their efforts refreshing. With a Pop Rock sound, some good musical deliveries and credible vocals, the guys from Monday Morning bring a good shot in the arm to an oversaturated Pop-Rock genre.
My personal favorites on this cd were...
track #1 - "Sunshine" - An interesting composition that catches you with its great musical delivery....
track #3 - "Can't Go On" - I found this to be a message of desperation tinged with hope and it was well written both musically and lyrically.
track #6 - "Next Year" - Another gem that grabs you musically and brings a picture of hope with an eye to the future and God's promise. Well done!!!
track #13 - "Tear Me From You" - A heartfelt ballad that brings this CD full circle with a strong message of not letting go of God no matter what.
Overall I found this CD to be well done and heartfelt. I do, however, find that at times they recycle the same hooks and it becomes a little redundant. I think these guys have way too much talent to have to recycle licks and become repetitive. That being said, I still give Fools Paradise a thumbs up for its content and musical delivery as well as it's vocal performances. I think that the guys from Monday Morning have a bright future ahead and wish them much success.
