In a word ... "Wow!" One is one of the best CD's that I've heard to date and Neal Morse and the talented musicians that he worked with have outdone themselves. The release features musical excellence and some of the most spiritual lyrics I've heard in a while. - Brian Jones

Guide Review - Neal Morse - 'One'
Don't let the simple title One fool you. There is nothing simple about this release. From the opening notes of "The Creation" to the finals strains of "Reunion," this album takes you on a journey of pure excellence. Done in the rarely seen anymore "concept" form (in Christian music anyway), the album is a complete story that takes listeners from the beginning of the creation of man, through the temptation ("Author of Confusion") and separation ("The Separated Man") to the state of forgiveness ("Father of Forgiveness") and the "Reunion." Regardless of your denomination, the story is one that will strike chords in your heart.
More than one reviewer has called One a masterpiece and I have to agree. I can't tell you a single thing about Neal's former bands Spock's Beard or Transatlantic, but if they showed this kind of musical excellency, then it's no wonder they were called "super groups" back in the 90's. What the secular music world lost, the Christian music world gained ... in spades. The real beauty is that both Christians and non-Christians can find plenty to love about this release.
