Ray Boltz Songs

Regardless of what your thoughts are about the announcement that Ray Boltz made regarding his sexuality (some people are angry that he is living as a homosexual man while others applaud his honesty), you can not use his lifestyle choices to discredit the wonderful music that earned him three Dove Awards and sold over 4 million copies. God is still God regardless of our choices and songs about Jesus are still songs about our Savior.

These popular Ray Boltz songs are about Jesus and the life we should all be living for Him (even though very few of us can honestly say that we do).

"I've Come To Serve" (from 'The Concert Of A Lifetime')

Ray Boltz - The Concert of a Lifetime
Ray Boltz - The Concert of a Lifetime. Ray Boltz Music

From the song ...

I've come to serve you,
I've come to serve you,
And if you know my Father's love
The way you say you do,
Then you will serve each other too.

A song that reminds us that Jesus came to serve and to save, this song helps put how we should follow Christ is perspective.

"Power To Love" (from 'The Altar')

Ray Boltz - The Altar

From the song ...

Left in the world full of hate
They gathered together
And started to pray
All they could do now was wait
That's when the power
Came into the room

The love of Christ is powerful enough to overcome an adversity and this song shares the message that will never grow old.

"The Hammer (from 'Moments for the Heart')

Ray Boltz - Moments for the Heart

From the song ...

And the crowd began to mock me
I cried, "Oh my God, I do not understand"
Then I turned and saw the hammer
In my hand

Written from the perspective of the soldier who nailed Jesus to the cross as the realization of what he done set in, "The Hammer" appeared on four of Ray's albums.

"At The Foot Of The Cross" (from 'The Unchanging Story')

Ray Boltz - The Unchanging Story

From the song ...

They were watching from a distance
And they could not
Take their eyes from You
You were bleeding
They were weeping
Faithful sisters, they had followed you

The women in Jesus' life stayed at the cross though it had to have cost them to the core of their souls and it was a risk since the crowds were not friendly. Is your faith that strong and your love so pure that you can follow Christ even when it's not popular?

"Heaven Is Counting On You" (from 'The Concert Of A Lifetime')

ray-boltz-theconcertofalifetime.jpg

From the song ...

Heaven is counting on you
Run with a heart that is true
Carry the cross, reaching the lost
Heaven is counting on you

We, as the body, have a job. We aren't supposed to just accept Christ and then go on like nothing happened. Heaven counts on us to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

"The Anchor Holds" (from 'Allegiance')

Ray Boltz - Allegiance
Ray Boltz - Allegiance. Ray Boltz Music

From the song ...

The anchor holds
Though the ship is battered
The anchor holds
Though the sails are torn
I have fallen on my knees
As I faced the raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm

Reminding us that despite our frailties, our missteps and our flaws, God is still on the throne and will stay there, "The Anchor Holds" is a timeless classic.

"Watch The Lamb" (from 'The Unchanging Story')

From the song ...

I stood for what seemed like years, I'd lost all sense of time
Until I felt two little hands holding tight to mine
The children stood there weeping, I heard the oldest say
"Father please forgive us, the lamb ran away"

This beautiful song was written from the perspective of the man who carried the cross for Jesus. As it plays, you'll find yourself drawn in and changed.

"Let's Begin Again" (from 'The Altar')

From the song ...

I can still remember
When we said our wedding vows
We gave the Lord our hearts and our home
But lately we've been so busy
It's changing us somehow
I wonder if that's why we feel alone

A song that any married couple can relate to, "Let's Begin Again" tells the story of a couple that has been together long enough for the shiny new feel to wear off. They need to start over, with God at the helm, to find themselves as a couple.

"I Will Praise The Lord" (from 'Moments For The Heart Vol 1 & 2 ')

Ray Boltz - Moments for the Heart
Ray Boltz - Moments for the Heart. Ray Boltz Music

From the song ...

I will praise the Lord
I will praise the Lord
No matter what tomorrow brings
What it has in store
I will praise the Lord

Written as though it is Paul speaking, he tells Silas that no matter what happens to them, he will continue to praise God.

"Bought With Blood" (from 'Allegiance')

Ray Boltz - Allegiance
Ray Boltz - Allegiance. Ray Boltz Music

From the song ...

Did you know that I have riches, too?
Perhaps you cannot see
Theres no greater treasure
Than what He paid for me

Contrary to what the world says, the goal is not to be he who dies with the most toys. We were bought with blood and the riches we will take into eternity can not be bought at a store.
