Guide Review - 'Not About You' - Mary Lou O'Hern

Most artists have one genre that they play, but Mary Lou O'Hern crosses several boundaries on her debut CD, Not About You. The title track, "Not About You," has a distinctly Celtic feel. "Photographs" is one of four with a very mellow sound. "Three Boys" and "The Hiding" bring a little blues to the table. "Hannah's Song" is pure worship featuring Mary Lou in a duet with John Jackson, a match that sounds like it was created in Heaven. "Journey to Your Heart" is simply anointed.

This is one lady that can not be easily classified or neatly fit into any one genre. She may sing different styles, but she does it with flair and passion. Simply put, she brings it! This is one of those rare gems that you listen to, listen to again, and even after a third helping still can't find a single song that you don't really care for. Don't just take my word for it. Listen for yourself. You'll be glad that you did.
