Guide Review - Fred Thomas - 'I See You'
- It's not the same tunes you're hearing everywhere else
- There are some pretty deep, "make you think" moments in the verses mixed with choruses that are familiar in their sentiment, making them easy to sing along with during the very first listen.
Lest you think that this is just another pop flash in the pan, Fred throws in some musical surprises that will keep you guessing. Take "Thank You" for example - there is a really nice a cappella break in there that shows just how strong Fred's voice really is. "Hallowed" starts out with an old-school, urban church feel. "Rejoice" has a little touch of blues in the opening strains and "Holy And Acceptable" reminded me of a bit of Kenny Loggins, back in the old days.
Fred Thomas has one of those voices that you could listen to all day and not get tired. He is one of those "indie gems" that is making a real impact on the industry.
