St. James is the first recording artist to partner her talents with the VeggieTales brand--a creative alliance that's already proven to be spectacularly successful. Last year when the DVD of VeggieTales An Easter Carol--featuring the Australian born singer voicing the character of a music box angel named "Hope" debuted, it sold over 450,000 copies in eight weeks during the 2004 Easter selling season.
Terry Pefanis, COO of Big Idea said, "Big Idea is thrilled to have Rebecca St. James as the first artist to partner with VeggieTales. The result has been tremendous. From the launch of An Easter Carol last season fans of the series have raved over Rebecca's voicing of the endearing character of Hope, the music box angel who helps save the true meaning of Easter."
Inspired by Dickens' Christmas classic, this very special VeggieTales film explains why millions of Christians around the world celebrate Easter past, present, and future.
St. James--who tweaked her Australian accent to sound slightly more British in voicing Hope, also sings an original song--'Hope's Song' on the DVD. She noted in a recent interview: "Countless times kids have approached me at my concerts over the past year to say 'Please do the voice of Hope!' It's been an awesome experience to be a part of VeggieTales!"
As VeggieTales' An Easter Carol continues to whisk briskly off national retailers shelves this Easter 2005--well on its way to becoming a seasonal classic for children--obviously there's proof that "hope" does indeed spring eternal in the world of Veggies.
