Featuring songs from Tomlin's Arriving and Redman's Blessed Be Your Name: Songs of Matt Redman Vol. 1, as well as powerful messages from Giglio, the 26-city Indescribable Tour will visit cities like New York, Buffalo, Chicago, Houston, Atlanta, Grand Rapids and Sacramento.
The tour takes its name from Tomlin's radio single, "Indescribable," from Arriving, which has sold more than 300,000 units. The song not only became Tomlin's first No. 1 hit last fall, but remained on the Top 30 for 50 weeks after hitting radio July 16, 2004 and going to number one on Oct. 10, 2004. Tomlin's follow up single, "Holy Is The Lord," also went all the way to No. 1 last spring and is No. 7 this week, while his current single, "The Way I Was Made," hit the R&R Christian Top 30 AC Monitored Chart last July - the first time ever for an artist to have three singles simultaneously on the chart.
One of the most 'church' songwriters today, Chris Tomlin is also known for writing "Forever," "We Fall Down," "The Wonderful Cross," "Famous One" and more anthems sung by millions of people each week in churches around the world.
Louie Giglio is the founder of Passion Conferences, a collegiate movement that calls people around the world to live Godly lives. Based on the confession of Isaiah 26:8, the aim of Passion is spiritual awakening in this young generation, an emerging wave of students that proclaim, "Your name and renown are the desire of our souls." As a part of the Passion Network, Giglio heads sixstepsrecords, a label partner with EMI CMG, and home to artist-worshipers David Crowder Band and Charlie Hall, as well as Tomlin and Redman.
Known for his humorous, yet straight-to-the-heart approach, Giglio speaks at gatherings around the world through national conferences, campus tours and the OneDay assemblies. For the past 10 years, he has also taught over three thousand single adults weekly at the interdenominational Bible study in Atlanta, "7|22." Giglio also the author of the popular books, The Air I Breathe: Worship as a Way of Life, and I Am Not But I Know I AM, in which Giglio challenges the reader to move from self-centered living toward God-centered living.
Matt Redman's songwriting is celebrated in churches around the globe, as well as loved by fellow musicians. Leading a generation of worshipers, his songs have been recorded by artists such as Michael W. Smith, Rebecca St. James, Tree 63, Kutless and Passion, among others.
Redman released his first collection of key worship songs this summer, titled Blessed Be Your Name: Songs of Matt Redman Vol. 1. The live recording is a compilation of Redman's top CCLI songs together for the first time. Seven songs on Blessed Be Your Name currently appear on the Top 200 CCLI chart, including "The Heart of Worship," "Better Is One Day" and "Let Everything That Has Breath." Also featured on the project is the title track "Blessed Be Your Name," which earned Redman his first GMA Music Award in 2005 for Worship Song of the Year.
A companion book by Redman and his wife Beth, also entitled Blessed Be Your Name, releases this month from Regal Books. The book says the church needs more songs of lament because suffering is a part of life, but God is there for us even when we suffer through painful times and it's important to praise Him always - thru good times and bad.
