But when the kindness and love of God our Savior was shown, he saved us because of his mercy. It was not because of good deeds we did to be right with him. He saved us through the washing that made us new people through the Holy Spirit. God poured out richly upon us that Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ our Savior. Being made right with God by his grace, we could have the hope of receiving the life that never ends.

Today, the Sunday before Christmas, celebrate the fact that through Christ, you have received a life that will never end.

His favorite Christmas carol - Brad said, "'O Come All Ye Faithful.' I love doing up-beat modern versions of this one. The lyrics are still so poignant and worshipful, calling all followers of Christ to ponder His birth and adore Him for who He is and the amazing sacrifice that He made becoming one of us."
His favorite Christmas smell - Brad said, "The tree, of course! There's nothing like the fragrance of a Christmas tree filling your entire house right after you get it in the door."
His favorite family Christmas tradition - Brad said, "It sounds so lame, but it's the way our family opens our gifts. We really take our time, opening gifts in a circle person by person, one by one. It's so lovely seeing the expressions of each person opening their gifts while we all sip on cinnamon flavored coffee. It really is better to give than receive."
His most daunting "some assembly required" moment - Brad said, "The most daunting Christmas moment was probably last Christmas when I decided three weeks before December 25th to put together a full-on Christmas Cantata for my church. It went beautifully, but the endless days of preparation and rehearsal led to two weeks of influenza and voicelessness. Now that's how you bring in the new year!"
