When most people think of the word "charity" they think of something given to help the needy. Another definition of charity is benevolence or generosity toward others or toward humanity. For Christians, charity has a different meaning again. Charity is love directed first toward God but also toward oneself and one's neighbors as objects of God's love.

So this little word ... charity ... has many meanings, and every single one of them is brought out more during the Christmas season.
