There will be 13 different shows held during GMA week at various downtown venues such as Hilton Downtown Nashville, Mercy Lounge, Renaissance Nashville, Rocketown, Ryman Auditorium and The Red Iguana. The weeks line-up of music includes some of the biggest names in Christian and gospel music like Avalon, Casting Crowns, Chris Tomlin, CircleSlide, Crabb Family, David Crowder Band, Day of Fire, DecyferDown, Disciple, Downhere, Eleventyseven, Falling Up, Flyleaf, Hawk Nelson, Jessie Daniels, Kevin Max, Kids In The Way, Kiki Sheard, Krystal Meyers, Mainstay, Manic Drive, Martha Munizzi, Michael John Stanley, Michael Sweet, Red, Run Kid Run, Seventh Day Slumber, Skillet, Smokie Norful, The Afters, The Choir, The Electric Church, the Isaacs, The Listening, The Violet Burning and Until June. More artists will be added to the schedule in the coming weeks.
No where else can you find the abundance and eminence of great artists than at GMA Music Week and the Showcase Pass makes it possible to experience all of it for a great price, said Jerry Charles, director of marketing and business development for GMA, in a press release. If you already love gospel music or youve always wondered what this music was all about, this is the time and week to take it all in.
The Showcase events will feature gospel music's most popular artists as well as some new talent, showing off the large-scale diversity in gospel music. Every kind of musical style will be featured - Pop, rock, rap, southern gospel, urban gospel, Latin and more. A few of the main events that will be open to Showcase Pass holders include:
- Sunday Evening Worship Service at the Ryman featuring Dove Award nominees Chris Tomlin and David Crowder Band, with renowned Passion leader Louie Giglio.
- The Songwriter Showcase at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel, which is the annual celebration of the year's best songs, featuring performances by the songwriters who wrote them.
- A World Vision Concert featuring Casting Crowns, Avalon and many other artists who share a relationship with the worldwide Christian relief and development organization.
- Urban Music Showcase that will feature artists such as David Hollister, Priscilla Jones, J Moss, Lisa McClendon, Men of Standard, Martha Munizzi, Smokie Norful, "KiKi" Sheard, T-Bone, Tye Tribbett, Trin-i-tee 5:7 with more artists to be added.
The concerts will be presented by BEC Recordings, Tooth & Nail Records, Southern Gospel Music Guild (SGMG), Integrity Label Group, EMI CMG, Word Records, Zomba Label Group, World Vision and other labels.
In addition to the concerts, Showcase Pass holders will be invited to Meet and Greet with many of their favorite artists at one event. On Sunday, April 2, Chevrolet, in conjunction with GMA, will present an Artist Meet-And-Greet at the Nashville Convention Center where fans can personally meet Rebecca St. James, Jars of Clay, J Moss, The Crabb Family, Third Day, Kiki Sheard, Bethany Dillon, BarlowGirl, Avalon, Audio Adrenaline, Big Daddy Weave, Mark Schultz, Warren Barfield, Brian Littrell, Krystal Meyers and Matthew West, among others. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Each artist will have an area for autograph signing and merchandise sales. Nashvilles WAY FM is the Radio Partner for the event and will broadcast live on location.
