This year's GMA Awards have several excellent songs up for the various Song of the Year categories. The winners were announced live on April 23, 2008.

Rap/Hip Hop Recorded Song of the Year

  • "Name Droppin’" - Bone-Appetit Servin’ Up Tha Hits - T-Bone - WINNER
  • "Open Bar" - Redemption - Grits
      Compare Prices
      Purchase/Download

"Open Bar" is a truly unusual name for a Christian song and lyrically it wouldn't be a stretch to take this one the wrong way, but the great beat and guest appearance by Pigeon John make it a good sounding tune.

  • "Wake Up" - The Yearbook - KJ-52 featuring Toby Morrell
  • "Who Am I?" - Open Book - Da’ T.R.U.T.H. featuring Tye Tribbett
      Compare Prices

Way off of the beaten path, "Who Am I?" is a definite twist for Da’ T.R.U.T.H.

  • "Word of Mouth" - Word of Mouth - John Reuben
      Compare Prices
      Purchase/Download

John Reuben never fails to entertain with his sense of humor and fun while he is hitting straight talking points 110% of the time. "Word of Mouth" takes his talent even farther.
