The Gospel Music Association's Dove Awards have honored the best male vocalist every year since 1969. In the first 30 years of the award, only 11 different male vocalists have taken home the honor.

Male Vocalist of the Year was one of the five GMA Awards that Chris Tomlin won in 2006.

Jeremy also won the award for Rock Recorded Song of the Year in 2005.
6. 2004 - Jeremy Camp
In 2004, Jeremy also won the New Artist of the Year Award.
7. 2003 - Michael W. Smith
Male Vocalist of the Year is one of four GMA awards that Smitty won in 2003.
8. 2002 - Mac Powell
Mac won the Male Vocalist of the Year award in '02 and his band, Third Day, won four more awards.
9. 2001 - Steven Curtis Chapman
2001 was the seventh year that Steven Curtis Chapman took home Male Vocalist of the Year at the Doves.
10. 2000 - Steven Curtis Chapman
Male Vocalist of the Year was one of four Doves that Steven Curtis Chapman took home in 2000.
