It is their desire for real connection that leads them to cover real life issues in their music. Stellar Kart is not afraid to tackle the gritty realities of life in their music, be it depression, suicide, or any other challenge.
We like to deal with issues that either we ourselves faced at a younger age or are dealing with now in our own lives or the lives of friends. But we try to leave with as optimistic impression as possible and give people hope to help them on the other end of what theyre going through, Adam reveals. Were in a position of responsibility, and weve been preparing for the last several years so that we can stand up to the tests and are ready to do the right thing. The whole reason we play our music is to do ministry, to hopefully work in as many kids lives as possible. And were all in agreement with that position, or we couldnt work together or stay together.
Adams voice rings with sincerity as he speaks and it is easy to sense the deep level of commitment these band members share. I asked him about the central message theyd like kids to take away from Stellar Karts music.
Adam responds immediately and from the heart. We realize that we cant make it through life on our own. When you come to the realization that you need God, you see that He was actually there when you were going through your tough times. He had a plan to make it better, maybe better now, or maybe better two years from now, but Hes in charge. On this new album especially we want to acknowledge that that weve given up control of our lives to God.
