Kim – You’re so right. In this day and age, with kids and jobs and meetings and to-do lists, it’s so easy to get so busy that you feel like you don’t have time for God. And you wake up one morning and find that you’re so far away that you don’t even know if you can find your way back.

Kate – Yes, but that thing in us called the Holy Spirit, helps us feel when we need to pick up the Word or just sit and pray. If we avoid that and put it off long enough, then we eventually won’t be able to hear it. I tell my kids all the time that that little voice is the Holy Spirit in you. And if you ignore it, you won’t be able to hear God and all of your decisions will be based on wrong information because you will have turned off your Guide. It’s pretty powerful.

Kim – No matter how deaf we get to it, the good news is that God doesn’t get forgetful of us.

Kate – Exactly. He is so faithful. All you have to do is go say that to Him and He goes “Yeah. Are you kidding? I’m in love with you. I’m so glad you’ve come back to me. Let me just love on you.” He’s not us. He doesn’t go “Oh, I’m sorry. You missed your opportunity.” If I were God, that’s what I would do! You know, the sooner we can get back to His feet, the shorter those distances will get. We will get where we can only stay away for so long because we’ll recognize the Holy Spirit sooner.
