By Kim Jones, About.com

P.O.D. (Payable on Death) was formed in 1992 in San Ysidro, California by Marcos Curiel, Noah Bernardo (Wuv) and Wuv's cousin, Sonny Sandoval. Mark Daniels (Traa) joined in 1993. Throughout the 90s, P.O.D. sold over 40,000 copies of their three homemade EPs. Atlantic Records signed them in 1998. Marcos left in 2003 and was replaced by Jason Truby. In 2006 Marcos rejoined the band. Jason left and P.O.D. left Atlantic.

Bottom line - P.O.D. has been rockin' fans for Jesus for over 15 years. However, they're not the only band in Christian rock with a great hard sound and a strong message. If you like P.O.D., check out ...

12 Stones members Paul McCoy (vox), Kevin Dorr (bass), Eric Weaver (guitar) and Aaron Gainer (drums) did 12 live performances before taking their demo to New York City. Wind Up Records snatched them up after an industry showcase and two years later, in 2002, their debut album hit stores. The really big time came when McCoy sand on "Bring Me to Life" with Evanescence. The rest, as they say, is history.
