P.O.D. (Payable on Death) was formed in 1992 in San Ysidro, California by Marcos Curiel, Noah Bernardo (Wuv) and Wuv's cousin, Sonny Sandoval. Mark Daniels (Traa) joined in 1993. Throughout the 90s, P.O.D. sold over 40,000 copies of their three homemade EPs. Atlantic Records signed them in 1998. Marcos left in 2003 and was replaced by Jason Truby. In 2006 Marcos rejoined the band. Jason left and P.O.D. left Atlantic.

Wind Up Records12 Stones members Paul McCoy (vox), Kevin Dorr (bass), Eric Weaver (guitar) and Aaron Gainer (drums) did 12 live performances before taking their demo to New York City. Wind Up Records snatched them up after an industry showcase and two years later, in 2002, their debut album hit stores. The really big time came when McCoy sand on "Bring Me to Life" with Evanescence. The rest, as they say, is history.

Blindside

Wasa/DRTBlindside members Christian Lindskog, Simon Grenehed, Tomas Näslund and Marcus Dahlström started playing together in 1994 as Underfree. The Swedish band released their debut EP two years later on on Day-Glo Records as Blindside and signed with Solid State Records in 1997. A deal with Tooth & Nail started distributing their first album in the U.S. in 1998. With help from P.O.D., they moved to Elektra Records' imprint 3 Points after two albums with Solid State, where they stayed until moving to Wasa/DRT in 2005.

ProvidentPillar members Rob Beckley (vocals), Lester Estelle (drums), Noah Henson (guitar), and Kalel (bass) started playing together in 1998 while attending Ft. Hays State University in Kansas. They signed with Flicker Records in 2000 and one year later won the Dove Award for Hard Music Album of the Year (
Above). A move to Oklahoma and getting picked up by MCA a year after that and they were truly a force to be reckoned with.

Project 86

Tooth & NailHailing from from Orange County California, Project 86 is Andrew Schwab (vox), Randy Torres (guitars, keys, background vox) and Steven Dail (bass, background vox). In 1998, the band released its self-titled debut album for BEC Recordings, the label that they stayed with until 2003. At that point, they formed their own production company, “Team Black Recordings,” and started recording a new record themselves, re-energizing their relationship with Tooth & Nail.

Thousand Foot Krutch

Tooth & NailThousand Foot Krutch members Trevor McNevan, Dave Smith, Tim Baxter and Christian Harvey started playing together in Ontario in 1998, giving worship music a rap-metal sound. They signed with Diamante in 2001 and moved to Tooth & Nail in 2003.
There have been a few personnel changes since the early das, but the sound has remained great and the band has won four Gospel Music Association Canada Covenant Awards.
