One of Christian music’s hottest groups, BarlowGirl, was selected as Best New Artist in the Campus Life 2005 Reader Choice Awards. The winners are decided by readers of the print magazine and the website, www.campuslife.net. The Campus Life readers are typically Christian high school teens, ranging in age from 14 – 18 years old. BarlowGirl also placed #2 for Best Song of the Year and tied for fifth place in Album of the Year. The top five-placing entries in all of the eight categories will be printed in the March/April issue of Campus Life magazine.

“This past year has been an incredible one filled with so many amazing opportunities and experiences and now to be honored like this is so humbling. It is wonderful to see that our music, something so personal to us, can be touching so many lives,” says BarlowGirl.

This latest accolade follows the impressive four Dove nominations that BarlowGirl received a few weeks ago. They are nominated for New Artist Of The Year, Rock/Contemporary Recorded Song (“Never Alone”), Rock Contemporary Album, and Special Event Album (Absolute Favorite Christmas).

BarlowGirl will be heading into the studio soon for their next album on Fervent Records, which is scheduled for an August release. Their self-titled debut CD was released in February 2004 and has shipped over 200,000 units which included the hit single, “Never Alone.” The single was named 2004 Song Of The Year by Radio & Records CHR chart and Christian Radio Weekly’s Rock chart.
