2009 is no different, with bands like Flyleaf, tobyMac, Relient K, Sanctus Real, Family Force 5, downhere, Stellar Kart and John Reuben contributing to this year's release.
In the September-October 2005 edition of YouthWorker Journal, they reported that, “Between 65% and 94% of church high school students stop attending church after they graduate." That in itself should show that there is a real need for this type of guidance.
"Questions graduates face have to do with their faith,” said Allen Weed, president and founder of interl’inc, in a press release. “Do they believe a certain way because they were taught it at home, or is it really personal for them? The entire CD guides students into exploring their own faith, with resources on it to help connect them to college and singles ministries that will keep them on the path to Christian maturity as individuals."
Weed shared a story about Ruth Graham, wife of evangelist Billy Graham, during her first year at college in the United States away from her missionary parents in China. During a period of questions and doubt, in tears she went to the college chaplain, worried that she was losing her faith. “No, you’re losing your parents’ faith,” he replied. “Now go out and get one of your own.”
The gift set includes a CD with 14 songs by top Christian artists, a DVD packed with videos from seniors around the country, a gift book and a hardback bible.
