Splashing into the sounds of summer, Tooth and Nail's pop punk-rock band Hawk Nelson plans to make waves with their debut CD Letters to the President on July 13. In addition to the anticipated release, this foursome is set to hit the road heavily this summer and into the fall to promote their first label project.

Originating from a mid-sized suburb of Ontario, Canada, Hawk Nelson captures youthfulness at its best with their fun, energetic, and current sound. Not taking their musical careers lightly, this ambitious group began pursing their passion full-time after high school by creating an independent CD and performing at every opportunity in order to catch the attention of those who would listen.

Their hard work paid off as Thousand Foot Krutch's, Trevor McNevan, began to go to bat for the group to the label. McNevan stood by the guys guiding them through their recording process, as a mentor in addition to co-producing alongside Aaron Sprinkle (Supertones, Pedro the Lion and Poor Old Lu).

"I had a lot of fun working with Hawk Nelson, we share the same passion for trying to make quality music that'll reach kids where they're at," states Trevor McNevan (TFK/FM Static). "I have yet to find or work with a band that has as much zeal for just having fun and being themselves as they do, and in return connects with their audience on a superior level. We had a lot of fun making the record together, and I can easily say that Letters To The President will leave a mark this summer, so get ready to play it loud!"

In addition to the support from McNevan, Tooth and Nail is proud to stand behind this new band. After flying to Ontario for their energetic performance, Tooth and Nail President Brandon Ebel signed the band.

"We believe in Hawk Nelson in a big way here, I am excited for the future of this band," states Brandon Ebel. "We have seen great success with radio with their single already at number eleven, and we have created a great plan together with touring along with a special three video package that will go to retail and video outlets prior to the release of the record."

With influences and elements of Thousand Foot Krutch, FM STATIC, Good Charlotte and Simple Plan, Letters to the President also draws on its own distinct elements and harmonies that make it stand out.

"The way we blend the different elements and diversify the sounds really helps our personalities shine through," states Hawk vocalist Jason Dunn.

Along with their early success, the Canadian natives have solidified 9 major market spots in the upcoming "Just Play Games Festival," which is to be held in Mills malls across the nation beginning in July through October. Benefiting the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, this festival is also partnered with Virgin Megastores, ESPN X Games, Jillians, Vans, EMI Music Group and more. The focus of this mall tour is to educate parents and children about safe media and video games while enjoying the sounds of groups like Hawk Nelson along with The Vines, The Roots, Fefe Dobson and Young Gunz.
