This power pop band was formed in late 1999 by Scott Kerr, former member of the band Five Iron Frenzy. He quickly enlisted fellow FIF bandmate Andy Verdecchio, as well as Josh Hemingway and Brett Bowden. The band has a very loyal and successful following in the western US, having released two independent projects and toured and/or shared the stage with bands such as FIF, Relient K, Something Corporate and Number One Gun.
"I think we were initially just amazed by their incredible songwriting ability," states Tim Taber, President of Floodgate Records, "but then we also got to know them as not only artists, but got to understand their focus. I knew instantly that I would be honored to have Yellow Second on Floodgate Records."
"We were very impressed with Tim and feel like he gets what we're trying to do. He's very passionate about our music. We feel that it's important to have such people behind us if Yellow Second is going to be successful," states Kerr.
Floodgate Records, LLC is based in Costa Mesa, CA and is home to artists such as Rita Springer, Mourning September and Cool Hand Luke.
