On Aug. 10, Rocketown Records' duo Watermark (Nathan and Christy Nockels) returns with a disc that is already causing a buzz among gatekeepers who've heard it. The Purest Place, produced by Nathan Nockels (Point of Grace, downhere, Matt Redman, Passion Worship CDs), hearkens back to Watermark's original roots as corporate worship leaders with 12 original songs of vertical praise. The album's first radio single, The Glory of Your Name, was inspired by the Nockels' viewing of a first cut of Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ last fall, and it became the catalyst that opened the floodgates of their musical creativity. The Glory of Your Name will start appearing on Christian radio on June 18th.

Watermark's Christy Nockels, who also appears as a vocalist on numerous Passion worship projects, says, "These songs have brought us back to truth, to simplicity and to a renewed vision of who we are and what we're called to do. We are excited because we feel freedom. God is working in our hearts more than ever before. It is comforting to know, through these songs He is continually with us and for us, and that He is still speaking to our hearts and we are hearing His voice."

Rocketown Records Vice President of Marketing Dave Palmer says, "The Purest Place draws from a deep well of life experience and a single-minded desire to express what God has been up to in the Nockels' lives. Nathan and Christy's own journey of worship, forgiveness and the wonderful second chance that comes with God's redemption is captured in these amazing songs, Nathan's fantastic production and Christy's astonishing voice. We're fortunate and thrilled to have music this great."

Rocketown Records' staff members aren't the only ones captivated by The Purest Place and the Nockels' talents. Tim Marshall, vice president of marketing for Provident Music Distribution, notes, "Christy Nockels is by far the most underrated, under appreciated female vocalist in our industry. I am taking it on as a personal challenge to change that."

KXOJ/Adonai Radio Group Program Director Bob Thornton adds, "Glory of Your Name" is the best Watermark song yet! There are only a couple of artists today doing original praise and worship music, written from their own experiences, and this one shines."

Watermark's Nathan Nockels says, "Over all, these songs are very Jesus focused. They are songs of response to who God is and all that He has done in our lives through Jesus. The songs from our last record were written through a time of learning to be new parents, juggling new responsibilities, and consequently, there are many more life songs on Constant. The songs on The Purest Place are worship-driven, expressions that we found ourselves singing after God began a deep pruning process in our lives. I feel like these songs have been a much more accessible tool for growth for us, and we pray that it will be the same for those who listen."

Grammy Award-winner Michael W. Smith and former Reunion Records A&R chief Don Donahue started Rocketown Records in 1996 with the goal of building a label around a foundation of great songs and a family atmosphere. Since its launch, Rocketown has garnered commercial and critical acclaim with more than 2.5 million units sold, more than two dozen No. 1 songs and numerous Dove Award nominations.
