Barry D. was a musical prodigy at the age of eight. Sitting in church one day he heard the voice of God tell him to play piano for the service. Not knowing how to play even the simplest song on the instrument didn't stop him and his faith payed off. He started playing that day and grew from there to record his first album by the age of 14.
From Florida’s prestigious New World School for the Arts to the world-renowned Berklee School of Music in Boston, Barry continued to play and grow in his craft. That growth has garnered him a Dove Nomination for his Handprint CD. It has also made him a past winner of the gospel category in the prestigious Billboard Songwriting Contest and a finalist in the distinguished John Lennon Songwriting Contest. Additional Nominations include 2007 Independent Music Awards and 2007 Los Angeles Music Awards. His latest offering, Born To Play was nominated for a 2009 Stellar Award and a 2009 GMA Dove Award.
