Top Worship Bands and Artists

A List of the Best Christian Worship Artists and Bands

While many Christian artists from different primary genres have done worship projects (like Natalie Grant, Michael W. Smith and Third Day), there are quite a few artists who only sing worship music.

Of course, no list of worship artists would be complete without Chris Tomlin, but since he is the best known worship leader in the world, let's look at some other great artists.

Kari Jobe

The worship pastor and Grammy nominee from Gateway Church, in Texas, started singing at an early age, taking the stage wherever her dad was preaching. By the age of ten, she knew that being a worship leader was her path.

Born and raised in Canada, Matt moved to the U.S. during his first year in college after his parents divorced. He was soon offered a music scholarship by Arizona State University.

After graduating, he started writing songs for his church and before long, EMI Publishing had signed him. Two years later, Essential Records discovered that he sang as well as he wrote, and they signed him to a recording deal.

Since the beginning, music has been a large part of Christy Nockels' life. The daughter of a pastor, she grew up singing in the church.

With husband Nathan and worship leader Charlie Hall, Nockels recorded an independent album as Sons & Daughters, and the project led them to Passion founder Louie Giglio.

Since 1997, she has been a huge part of the popular conferences. Watermark, the next band on her resume, was another collaboration with husband Nathan, and it helped lead to a successful solo career.
