- His Family. "They are by far the biggest sacrifice I have to make to be in this band, which is why every moment with them is so sweet! I couldn't be more thankful than I am for a BEAUTIFUL wife that supports what I do, and kids that are so full of life and laughter, they can put a smile on my face no matter how tired I may be."

- "There's really nothing at the Thanksgiving table I avoid...not a huge fan of cranberry sauce...everything else, though...BRING IT ON!!!!"
Favorite song on the new album ...
- "I really feel like this is the best album we've made as a band. It feels like it was made more collectively, and the end result, while being that trademark MercyMe sound, feels very fresh to me. As far as a favorite song, I really have a hard time picking just one. If I had to, the one song I catch myself singing more than any other is probably the song "All Right." The song is a reminder to us all that no matter how dark things may seem, God is ALWAYS in control, and therefore, all things will work together for the glory of God. If we're supposed to be living for is His glory, then we should rejoice in ALL THINGS. This song helps me rejoice...I can't help but dance when I hear it."

- "It can be a strange road to walk at times. Doing what we love but at the same time being the most passionate about, and caring most about, our families. We don't always get to have the time with our families like want, so the holiday season is always very special for us. It really is all about family for us."

- "As long as there is an abundance of turkey, green bean casserole, and pecan pie with vanilla ice cream I am happy!"
Favorite song on the new album ...
- "I think our new album may turn out to be our favorite recording we have ever done. I know that is what I am supposed to say, but God really showed up on this one for us. When we literally had nothing, God dumped an abundance of melody and thought on our doubt and fear. My favorite track on the album as of now is probably "Grace Tells Another Story." It is a little different for us musically, but the message is even now still speaking to me. Which can sometimes be a difficult thing to say when you are the one writing it."
