Robert Pierre, the 15 year old thinkaboutit Records artist, shares his thoughts about 2007 and his New Year's Resolutions for 2008.

  • Q. What is the biggest thing that God has done in your life in 2007?

      A. Robert: Let me think about this one...  2007 has been a pretty big year for me.  You know, I think being a part of the Believe tour was such a life-changing experience for me this past year.  I got the opportunity to travel all over America and be a part of a ministry especially designed for kids my age.  Every week, I heard the same messages, and you know what, they really spoke to me as much as to all the kids that were there.  The basic message of Believe this year was that God wants you to bring whatever it is He's gifted you with, whatever you have that you're really good at, and He'll be sure to use it for His honor and glory and for His Kingdom.  A lot of us think we can only be used by God if we have some huge talent, but He's uniquely gifted all of us in one way or another.  This idea of bringing your talent, your good grades, your smile, your basketball skills, your laugh or whatever, and offering it to God for Him to use was a huge eye-opener for me and I think it's been the biggest thing God has taught me this year.
  • Q. What is the hardest lesson that God has taught you in 2007?

      A. Robert: Oh, wow.  I know that this year I've had to really learn to trust that God is in control.  There's no way to learn what touring is like unless you do it, so I had no idea what I was getting into when I started traveling this year.  Don't get me wrong, I totally love singing my music, seeing all the different parts of the country, and meeting new friends everywhere, but it's also a lot of work; making up a whole lot of missed school, living out of a suitcase, performing when you're tired...  It was a bigger job than I thought.  Staying healthy was a huge deal and I had a hard time doing that.  I was sick constantly and we couldn't figure out what the problem was.  This is where I really had to trust the Lord.  I knew that He knew my situation and was in control.  He could heal my sicknesses or use me when I was sick.  I just had to trust Him to get me through the responsibilities I had each week.  It was hard to not be anxious about it.  And guess what...  The Lord allowed me to get through every concert!  In the end, after a lot of antibiotics and tests, it turned out I was allergic to my retainer!
  • Q. What are your New Year's Resolutions for 2008?

      A. Robert: Uhhhh....I've never made a New Year's resolution, so I don't really know how all that works! (LOL) Right now, Lord willing, it looks like I'll be back in the studio recording my second CD in the Spring.  I can't even tell you how excited I am about that!  This will be a huge focus for me in 2008.  I guess my resolution would be to work hard and do my best to glorify Christ on this project.  Then He can do whatever He wants with it!
