Selah - 2007

Curb Records
Selah's newest member, Amy Perry, shares her thoughts about 2007 and her New Year's Resolutions for 2008.

  • Q. What is the biggest thing that God has done in your life in 2007?

      A. Amy Perry: The biggest thing God has done in my life, besides my salvation, would be this job; singing with Selah. God has opened so many doors of ministry through singing with Selah. Not to mention, He gave me the thing I always dreamed about having. When people would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up, even at 6 years old, I said a singer. And not only did God give me the desires of my heart, He gave me a wonderful family with Todd and Allan, He gave me above and beyond what I could have hoped for by bringing Selah into my life.
  • Q. What is the hardest lesson that God has taught you in 2007?

      A. Amy Perry: The hardest lesson I have had to learn this year is trust. I've always been very independent, even when I first got married, it was very hard to ask my husband to do things for me. I plan everything out six, eight, ten months in advance. Last year we relocated to California, it took my husband a few months to find a job, and I was busy touring, we were really hurting financially. The hardest thing for me to do was to relax and trust that God was going to provide, and trust that my husband would get the right job. I wanted to plan everything out, and I couldn't. It was painful, but God is so good and faithful.
  • Q. What are your New Year's Resolutions for 2008?

      A. Amy Perry: My new year's resolutions are the same as everyone else's, I'm going to go to the gym more, lay off the potato chips, etc... However, those never seem to last long. I think the most important resolution one can make, and I definitely have to make it more than once a year is to spend more time with God. I think we get so busy and hurried that the most important relationship we have is the one we neglect. This year God has really been burdening my heart to worship Him deeper and really reach another level of intimacy with Him. So that's my desire for this next year, is to enter into a more intimate, deep level of worship with God and to keep getting closer to Him every day.
