CO3, a duo made up of former Carrie Underwood sidemen Chad Little and Dave Romero, share their thoughts about 2007 and their New Year's Resolutions for 2008.

  • Q. What is the biggest thing that God has done in your life in 2007?

      A. Chad Little: The biggest thing God has done in my life this year is He is showing me how to be a dad. My wife Kelly and I have two little girls, Aubrey is 4 years and Delaney is 15 months. I guess you never really get the full grasp of who God really is as a father until you become one. And now even more, as the girls are growing, I am beginning to understand my Father God’s nature. I really get now why our Father wants to give us so much, why he hurts when we hurt and why He will defend us and run to our rescue every time. You see, those are all the things you feel and do as a father. Realizing these things through my new role as dad has really drawn me closer to my Father God.

      A. Dave Romero: The biggest thing God has done for me in 2007 is he has given me another year with my bride Melissa. We will celebrate 19 years of marriage on Christmas Eve, and it gets better every year. We have learned even more this year how to serve and love one another unconditionally. We have learned how to walk in the Intimacy that God intends all marriages to have. We look forward to the next 19 years, because we know as long as we keep God at the center of our marriage, it is going to be amazing!

  • Q. What is the hardest lesson that God has taught you in 2007?

      A. Chad Little: Well, without sounding cliché, God has taught me this year how to experience patience. Being a new dad, a new recording artist and running a business tends to stretch your patience. I guess we all have patience to some degree, but when it is fully experienced is when you find out what it really is. Who likes waiting? Especially in our “drive-through” culture. We all want it now. As an artist, you learn real quickly that there is no such thing as overnight success. So God allows our character to be built as we develop as artists. I may not like the pain of this process, but as they say, no pain no gain, right? Truth is, if your character is not ready when you reach success or notoriety, you will fail miserably. So I guess I will be patient as God continues to build my character!

      A. Dave Romero: The hardest lesson I have learned in 2007 is that for you to use your gift that God gave you, you must be stripped of your pride to really be effective in the Kingdom of God. I went through about 3 months of being stripped of my pride this year, and I have to say it was the hardest, but best thing that ever happened to me. I am still being stripped daily. It is not easy laying down your pride, but it is a must if you are going to walk in the humility that God wants His children to walk in.

  • Q. What are your New Year's Resolutions for 2008?

      A. Chad Little: To be a better husband, better dad and better leader! If I can get all these right, I know it will make a better artist and songwriter. You see, it takes peace of mind to be able to leave home and go on the road and do what we do. I couldn’t write songs without it. So again, if I can be better at all of these, I believe I can have a solid foundation on which I can build a lasting career and legacy!!

      A. Dave Romero: What are my New Years Resolutions? Well I really don't make New Years resolutions, but I make goals for myself every year. My first goal is to grow in the area of loving God and loving people. I want to love my bride more next year than I did this year. I just don't want to say I love you to her, God, and to those in my life, but I want to demonstrate how to walk it out on a daily basis. My other goal is to pour into young marriages to give them a greater foundation, so they will have a lifelong partnership that they can be very proud of. Then last but not least I want to continue to balance my life with spending time with God, with my family, my church, and also keeping myself physically fit.
