The official Top 10 Weekly Christian hit songs list is compiled by your Guide by checking and averaging Christian charts from all over the U.S. such as Billboard and R&R.
This week Jeremy Camp has moved into the top spot with Brandon Heath coming in at number two. Francesca Battistelli's second radio single from her debut album makes its first appearance making her the only female solo artist in the Weekly Top 10 this first week in February.
1. "There Will Be a Day" - Jeremy Camp
This powerful and passionate song, which has moved Brandon Heath out of the number 1 spot, comes to us from Jeremy's new release, Speaking Louder Than Before. The song has set a ton of records at radio and once you hear it, you'll certainly understand why. Outstanding!
2. "Give Me Your Eyes" - Brandon Heath
"Give Me Your Eyes," which was the #8 song for 2008, is off of Brandon's latest release, What If We, which hit stores on August 19, 2008. A soft melody carries a big stick on this tune.
4. "Lose My Soul" - tobyMac f/ Kirk Franklin & Mandisa
"Lose My Soul," from Portable Sounds, features Kirk Franklin and Mandisa as well as lyrics that let you know, beyond doubt, just how sincere about living his life to God's standards tobyMac really is. This song came in at #17 in the Top 40 Songs of 2008.
5. "Jesus Messiah" - Chris Tomlin
"Jesus Messiah," which came in at #7 in the Top 40 Songs of 2008, is off of Chris Tomlin's 2008 release Hello Love. This song released to radio on June 13th and it was the most added song on Christian Adult Contemporary, Christian Hit Radio, and Christian Inspirational radio that week, with 97 total adds, (according to Radio & Records).
6. "Revelation" - Third Day
"Revelation," which we first saw in December, is the title track and second radio single off of the new album, Revelation, which released on July 29th. This one will rock all the way to the top! Brad Avery may be missing, but the classic Third Day sound sure isn't.
7. "Slow Fade" - Casting Crowns
A November debuter, "Slow Fade" is the latest radio release from The Altar and The Door. As always, Mark Hall hits home with the lyrics on this tune and the music is excellent.
8. "Free To Be Me" - Francesca Battistelli
Debuting this week, the upbeat "Free To Be Me" is the second radio release from My Paper Heart to make the Top 10.
9. "Fight Inside" - Red
"Fight Inside," which debuted last week, is the first single release off of the upcoming Innocence & Instinct, which will hit stores on February 10, 2009. All about the temptation that lives inside of each of us and how we have to actively fight it off, this song rocks.
10. "Whatever You're Doing" - Sanctus Real
"Whatever You're Doing" is a great song about finding your purpose in life off of the band's latest release, We Need Each Other.
