The official Top 10 Christian Hit Songs Chart is compiled by your Guide by checking and averaging Christian charts from all over the U.S. such as Billboard and R&R.
MercyMe and Chris Tomlin sit on top of the Christian Music world this week in the charts. Jeremy Camp checks in with two songs, one of which is in a debut position.
1. God With Us - MercyMe
Think Casting Crowns' "Who Am I" and you'll get an idea of the theme behind "God With Us."
- Who are we that You would be mindful of us what do...
MercyMe has hit the bulls-eye again with this first single off of their latest album, All That Is Within Me.
2. Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone) - Chris Tomlin
Chris Tomlin puts a new spin on a classic hymn by adding the very powerful praise chorus "My Chains Are Gone." As always, Chris does a fine job of bringing a classic to the fore-front of the 21st Century.
3. You Are Everything - Matthew West
Moving down from number 2, this song is a hit for West. Off of the new release, Something To Say, Matthew West has a great deal to say after successful vocal cord surgery. This album isn't simply food for thought ... it's food for your spirit.
4. In Wonder - Newsboys
This remixed version of "In Wonder" has a smooth little groove going, but still sounds like the Newsboys that we've come to know and love.
5. East to West - Casting Crowns
This beautiful song, off of the latest Casting Crowns release, The Altar and The Door, is one of my favorites. The usual fare from Casting Crowns, "East to West" boasts deep, meaningful lyrics, a perfect blend on the vocals and sterling musicianship. After only four weeks in the Top 10, this song moved up to number one and it stayed there for 19 weeks.
6. How You Live (Turn Up The Music) - Point of Grace
With a bit of a country flair, "How You Live (Turn Up The Music)," the title track off of the quartet's latest release, is a delightful tune with some strong meaning and a message that we all need to remember.
7. Never Going Back To OK - The Afters
"Never Going Back To OK," which debuted 6 weeks ago, is the title track off of of the band's upcoming February release. Upbeat pop is the phrase of the day and The Afters do it quite well.
8. No Matter What It Takes - Jeremy Camp
Debuting this week, "No Matter What It Takes" is the latest single off of the popular, Beyond Measure. Kicking into high gear, this rocker lifts you up ... way up!
9. The Twenty-First Time - Monk & Neagle
"The Twenty-First Time" is the title track off of the band's sophomore release, which hit stores last September. Think Casting Crowns' "If We Are The Body" ... it's not the same sound, but the sentiment is quite similiar.
- Drifter or stranger, father or son
I’ll look for Jesus in every one
’cause I am the body and drink of the wine
and I’m thankful there’s more than the twenty-first time
10. Let it Fade - Jeremy Camp
Jeremy and wife Adrienne hit every note on this beautiful pop/rock tune, making it one of the best from the CD (which is excellent in itself).
