The official Top 10 Christian hit songs list is compiled by your Guide by checking and averaging Christian charts from all over the U.S. such as Billboard and R&R.
Matthew West and MercyMe have the top honors this week in the charts while Beverly Crawford and Anberlin round out the Top 10 with new music.
1. You Are Everything - Matthew West
Moving up from number 3, this song is a hit for West. Off of the new release, Something To Say, Matthew West has a great deal to say after successful vocal cord surgery. This album isn't simply food for thought ... it's food for your spirit.
2. God With Us - MercyMe
Think Casting Crowns' "Who Am I" and you'll get an idea of the theme behind "God With Us."
- Who are we that You would be mindful of us what do...
MercyMe has hit the bulls-eye again with this first single off of their latest album, All That Is Within Me.
3. Let it Fade - Jeremy Camp
Jeremy and wife Adrienne hit every note on this beautiful pop/rock tune, making it one of the best from the CD (which is excellent in itself).
4. Never Going Back To OK - The Afters
"Never Going Back To OK," which debuted 7 weeks ago, is the title track off of of the band's February release. Upbeat pop is the phrase of the day and The Afters do it quite well.
5. Unbreakable - Fireflight
"Unbreakable" is the title track off of the upcoming March release (tomorrow) from Fireflight. This tune has been featured on NBC's "Bionic Woman" and it rocks!
6. East to West - Casting Crowns
This beautiful song, off of the latest Casting Crowns release, The Altar and The Door, is one of my favorites. The usual fare from Casting Crowns, "East to West" boasts deep, meaningful lyrics, a perfect blend on the vocals and sterling musicianship. After only four weeks in the Top 10, this song moved up to number one and it stayed there for 19 weeks.
8. The Unwinding Cable Car - Anberlin
Debuting this week, "The Unwinding Cable Car" is off of 2007's Cities. Slower and more mellow than standard Anberlin fare, this tune is a true stand-out on the album.
9. "Never Would Have Made It" - Marvin Sapp
"Never Would Have Made It" is off of Marvin Sapp's seventh album, Thirsty, which hit stores last summer. With a voice that is as smooth as glass and the background vocals courtesy of Myron Butler & Levi, this motivational and moving song has everything going for it.
10. Wake Up! Wake Up! - Everyday Sunday
This is one track that is truly high impact all the way.
