The official Top 10 Weekly Christian hit songs list is compiled by your Guide by checking and averaging Christian charts from all over the U.S. such as Billboard and R&R.
Matthew West has moved into the top spot this week with MercyMe coming in at number two and Chris Tomlin bringing new music to the table at number eight.
1. "The Motions" - Matthew West
The last single release from Something To Say spent 20 weeks in the Top 10 and was the #1 song of 2008. Does "The Motions," a powerful song about living your life instead of just going through the motions, have what it takes to do as well as "You Are Everything?"
2. "Finally Home" - MercyMe
"Finally Home" is the latest single release from All That Is Within Me and this is the 6th week we've seen it. Bart Millard's favorite song on the album because it reminds him of the day that he'll get to see his dad again, this emotional tune resonates with listeners because we all have loved ones that we long to see again.
3. "There Will Be a Day" - Jeremy Camp
After nine weeks in the #1 spot, this powerful and passionate song has moved down a couple of notches. "There Will Be a Day" comes to us from Jeremy's new release, Speaking Louder Than Before and it has set a ton of records at radio. One listen and you'll certainly understand why. Outstanding!
4. "Free To Be Me" - Francesca Battistelli
After debuting nine weeks ago, this song moved up the charts like a bullet. The upbeat "Free To Be Me" is the second radio release from My Paper Heart to make the Top 10.
5. "By Your Side" - Tenth Avenue North
"By Your Side," which debuted in November, is the second radio single from the band's debut album, Over and Underneath. With very Jon Forman sounding vocals, the song is written from the perspective of Jesus himself, and asks some hard questions about why we don't seem to feel like he's enough.
6. "Revelation" - Third Day
"Revelation," which we first saw in December, is the title track and second radio single off of the new album, Revelation, which released on July 29th. This one will rock all the way to the top! Brad Avery may be missing, but the classic Third Day sound sure isn't.
7. "Let's Dance" - Hawk Nelson
This fun tune from Hawk Nelson Is My Friend debuted in the Top 10 last week. It is about being comfortable with who you are in Christ instead of trying to be what the world wants you to be ... a good lesson for all of us.
8. "I Will Rise" - Chris Tomlin
Debuting this week, "I Will Rise" is the latest single off of Chris Tomlin's new release Hello Love which hit stores on September 2, 2008.
9. "Peace and Favor Rest on Us" - Kurt Carr & The Kurt Carr Singers
"Peace and Favor Rest on Us," which debuted eight weeks ago, comes to us from the two disc set, Just The Beginning. Kurt really goes back to his roots on this one and in a word, it's infectious.
10. "Souled Out" - Hezekiah Walker & LFC
Hezekiah Walker & The Love Fellowship Crusade Choir, which we first saw eight weeks ago, bring you to your feet with the title track from their latest release. Fun with a punch - that's "Souled Out."
