The official Top 10 Christian hit songs list is compiled by your Guide by checking and averaging Christian charts from all over the U.S. such as Billboard and R&R.
Casting Crowns and Matthew West sit on top this Memorial Day weekend. They're joined by Third Day, Laura Story and Family Force 5, who all bring their latest to the table.
1. "Every Man" - Casting Crowns
Moving into the top spot in week 7 in the Top 10, "Every Man" is the latest radio release from The Altar and The Door. As always, Mark Hall hits home with the lyrics on this tune, reminding us that there are plenty of every-day type people out there waiting for someone to give them some words of hope, encouragement and love.
2. You Are Everything - Matthew West
Moving down from number 1, this song is definitely a hit for West. Off of the new release, Something To Say, Matthew West has a great deal to say after successful vocal cord surgery. This album isn't simply food for thought ... it's food for your spirit and your soul.
3. All Because Of Jesus - Fee
Still holding strong at #3, "All Because of Jesus" comes to us from Fee's 2007 release, We Shine. You've heard this tune before because Casting Crowns covered it on The Altar And The Door but you haven't heard it like this.
4. Let it Fade - Jeremy Camp
Moving down from number 2, Jeremy and wife Adrienne hit every note on this beautiful pop/rock tune, making it one of the best from the CD (which is excellent in itself).
5. Washed By The Water - NEEDTOBREATHE
"Washed By The Water" is off of NEEDTOBREATHE's 2007 The Heat. Piano driven and based on a true story, this one is a real winner.
6. Call My Name - Third Day
Debuting this week, "Call My Name" is off of the upcoming new album, Revelation, which releases on July 29th. Brad Avery may be missing, but the classic Third Day sound sure isn't. This rocker is just a taste of what we have to look forward to in July.
7. Mighty To Save - Laura Story
Debuting this week, "Mighty To Save" comes to us from Laura's March 2008 release, Great God Who Saves. Laura's cover of the Hillsong tune gives it a pop flavor and she definitely makes it her own.
9. Believe - Mainstay
"Believe" brings us Justin Anderson doing some incredible vocals (not unusual, I know) over more "pop" sounding acoustic music.
10. Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone) - Chris Tomlin
Chris Tomlin puts a new spin on a classic hymn by adding the very powerful praise chorus "My Chains Are Gone." As always, Chris does a fine job of bringing a classic to the fore-front of the 21st Century.
